Since posting this I've been informed by the Technical Dept that it is only possible to change the Printed Date Format for Reports, not for everyday transaction input. This is disappointing, and perhaps it's something the developers can address as the programme must have users in many different countries who prefer the visuals to match their national preferences.

I am also having this problem. I live in the UK. Nothing I do alters the way the date is displayed for my account transactions.
