I'm starting to convert AVI clips I have to mp4, I can't see difference in the picture quality, the saving on the GB's is amazing. Do any of you out there do this, I can't see any detriment in doing it. Perhaps you'd let me know if there is. I'm just copying all my video's over to a new computer, it's woken me up to how much I've got stored on the 1TB hard drive, I've had a 2TB storage drive put in the new one

Thank you Borate, I've downloaded the latest, and it now loads immediately, I'll see how I get on from now

I don't know why, but in the last week, when I click to load Videopad, it takes about 3 minutes before it loads, it used to come up instantly. It's version 13.21 that I'm registered with. My other programmes are loading OK as usual

Is there a way to split music and not the video?
Alan Hodkinson replied to HelpingSaveHumanity's topic in VideoPad
The best thing, is just set it up and have a play, you can try all sorts of ideas, I do, and it's amazing what you find you can do by just playing -

Thank you borate, I think I've sorted mine now, I wondered why sometimes it was OK and sometimes it wasn't, it was the way I was clicking -

How to mark, highlight, arrow point, etc a location in the video?
Alan Hodkinson replied to MLO2022's topic in VideoPad
I added a pointed finger in one of my videos to indicate where something is. At the top click on Add Objects, select Clip Art library, Then select Icons and Symbols, Select Arrows, on there you will find pointed finger, you can make it as large or small as you like and change it's direction, Or you could just use an arrow, they're all on there Here is the use of the pointing finger, it comes at the end of the video....https://youtu.be/LHmIBUYKVBA -
Strange thing, just loaded a project to start work again this morning and when I select a clip on the timeline it highlights all the other clips, now it usually only does this if I select Ctrl A first..... It was working fine yesterday. I've just put up another project to try it out, and that's OK, anyone any Idea what I may have clicked in ??? -0- Sorted, found an "Unlink selected clips" under "Sequence" under Menu, must have somehow clicked it in, I've now clicked it out, didn't know you could do that, so something learned.

I find the left and right arrow keys a good way to navigate the timeline

I'm really getting to love this VideoPad
Alan Hodkinson replied to Alan Hodkinson's topic in VideoPad
Yeah, it'destroys me when I lose one, but there are the others to look after so you have to get on with things, we are used to having 2 or 4 at a time, we show Norwegian Elkhounds and camp at the shows in a group, we enjoy the group......https://youtu.be/HumQY_l5tC0 -
I was making a video of the passing of our dogs over the Years, and set it to music, all the clips of the dogs I used would have to be around 15 seconds each, and then alter the speed of the music without altering the tone of the voice so it all fitted together. I've been learning so many things, how to do this, best way to do that, playing around and experimenting, and it's really paying off, I can now happily move off the editor I've used for years (they've stopped producing it now, so no more back up). Here's the project I've just finished if you want to view it....https://youtu.be/CFEhDFJTv1w

What's the latest version, mine is V 13.21, am I out of date -
Hi, the tone of your voice sounds fine, one thing I would say, you may be speaking too close to the microphone, there seems to be some popping now and again that results from being too close, also now and again it gets a little muffled, a little bit further away would give more clarity. You may do well to do as Borate and Lancelot say and try playing with Wavepad, it's a very good programme, Best of luck

There is a way to make your voice sound deeper, you could experiment and try, This is a demo I did of tying fishing hooks https://youtu.be/YUxD6wgiP2k. Now, this second clip is the same but re exported slowed down a little to lower the voice https://youtu.be/_uhyCvv0ex4 I play around and experiment all the time, I love finding out what I can change, just have a play. Speaking slower in voice overs sounds better and more professional anyway

Works perfectly well for me too, tried it several times, slow and fast, fine

Cannot find image that appears after end of project
Alan Hodkinson replied to Jacklyn E Bricker's topic in VideoPad
As Shakespeare said, "All's well that ends well". Actually, the more you play with this, the more you learn. I often just start a project for no other reason than just to play, and try different things, like zooming up in the middle of a clip to get a close up, getting someone to move backwards, anything, just play. -
Cannot find image that appears after end of project
Alan Hodkinson replied to Jacklyn E Bricker's topic in VideoPad
I have had this happen to me on more than one occasion, it is so small you can't see it on the timeline, as Borate says expand the timeline look at the end, and there you'll find it -
They must have been a hell of a lethal weapon

It doesn't always have to be Video to tell a story, I did some jobs on our camper, and just photographed it, so I used those in my Projects to demonstrate doing the work and put it on the camper website and YouTube, The response I had back was quite pleasing, several people took on these jobs with the help from these videos https://youtu.be/ChKtL9TlJ4k https://youtu.be/LHmIBUYKVBA
