I have also noticed an issue with jpeg files being imported recently using the automate function. Some of them are not rendered in the preview window correctly and also get rendered as the same picture, and the slideshow slide is rendered with noise. I've reported this and still waiting on a response as it's holding up a big project I am trying to complete
