  1. Fade in applies to the entire image all at once. Reveal is like "pulling back a curtain", as in this top-to-bottom example: https://1drv.ms/v/s!Ak_mAiTAoy-Fgw6wFZYpCBG2GbDM
  2. Suppose you have content on video track 1, and you want to overlay something onto video track 2 - let's say just a simple image which is smaller than the whole screen. An inset or insert, if you will. The various Reveal transitions are quite useful for that, rather than having the inset just jump into view. Is there any way to do a "one sided transition? That is, reveal this inset image without there being an immediately preceding clip? As a workaround, I can put a "transparent image" before the inset to transition from, but it would useful to not have to do that.
  3. Part 1: What I wanted to do. If you want a rectangular mask, you can make the proportions anything you want, from very skinny to square. As far as I can tell for round masks, only the shape of a circle is possible. Is there a way to make it an ellipse? Part 2: What I tried, without success. I tried using two overlapping circular masks, but it seems one or the other is used rather than any combination of them. Is that correct? Part 3: What I ended up doing. Since what I wanted the mask for was to shape a colored background of a text clip, I just created a background image with the desired shape. Side note: It took me quite a while to find out how to do an "inverse mask" (i.e. apply the effect to what's NOT inside the shape), and judging by the questions about that on the forum, that tiny "Mask Inside" checkbox might be more prominent, or at least mention of it made on the Tutorial page http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_masking.html
  4. If the outtro you want to save is already part of a larger project, you can do something like this: Save Project As Open the new Project File Delete everything else Save what's left That will all be easier if the outro is separate sequence.
  5. Videopad 11.55 I somehow got it into a state where there appeared to be a marker of some kind at a point in the timeline, and then, no matter what I tried to do, putting my mouse pointer anywhere on the timeline, it would then select the section from that mystery point to the cursor, expanding or contracting as the mouse pointer moved left or right. This is the same behavior if you put your mouse on the red cursor and drag left or right, but in the weird case, without holding down any mouse buttons. Moving off the timeline, clicking the timeline, changing to another sequence, none of that helped. Finally, I saved the project, closed Videopad, and restarted it, and then the problem was gone. What happened there?
