Sound Issue

After installing SoundTap a few days ago my sound with other programs has been cutting out. I've been to the support page and I read that the solution is to go into control panel > sound devices and ensure your sound card is selected as the default device rather than SoundTap...

 

When I open sound devices my sound card is always displayed as the default device...strangely enough i don't change any settings and simply click apply and my sound starts working again.

 

I have to do this repetitively.

 

I am using a Creative Soundblaster PCI ES1371.

 

Unfortunately I have been unable to determine what actually causes my sound to drop in and out...it just happens randomly.

 

If any body has had the same issue and has found a solution please let me know...or if anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated..
