I ran soundtap this morning, closed it down and now the sound is no loger working e.g. playing CDs/mp3 files via WMP or games or internet radio..... just silence! I have tried to uninstall the software... I have rebooted.... I reinstalled the software.... (uninstall was not very clean, because all the settengs were the same again, even the recording folder......) if I run the software and then fire up other software, the sound is OK. I do not want to run sound tap in the background...... Can anyone help please?

Please read www.nch.com.au/soundtap/support.html:

P: I have installed SoundTap and now none of my other audio programs are playing correctly.

  1. Ensure SoundTap has been closed down and it is not running in the task bar.
  2. Click Start -> Control Panel.
  3. Open Sounds and Audio Devices.
  4. Select the Audio tab.
  5. Ensure that the default device for Sound playback is set to your sound card and NOT to the SoundTap Recorder.
  6. Close the control panel.
  7. Try playing your other audio programs again.
