Must be doing it wrong?

Help!!! What am I doing wrong? I put a 30 minute video on track 1. I added the title to the clip and extended the title to show for several seconds, but if I add a 30 minute music clip to the audio it reduces the video to a 2 or 3 minute clip. I can just keep adding the video to track one about 45 times to get a 30 minute video with music but that seems wrong. How do I fix this? Mariann
