Record audio clipping - not responding to mike level

Hi, I have a problem with audio clipping when capturing video from a VHS player. connected by a USB video capture dongle. I tried adjusting the Audio Options/ System mixer/ line input/ level control - but even when set to 0, the audio still clips on recording. Using a HP V104 i5 notebook, Win 10 Home, all latest updates and HW drivers. Any ideas please? Thanks

Hello,

Have you tried lowering the volume down from the VHS player directly?  If you don't have a way to lower the volume down from the VHS player, there is no options in the program to manage the input volume level, other than what you already mentioned.
