solved Preview display freezing, audio still playing

The title says it all. When editing, the "Sequence Preview" window used to watch the video freezes on a frame while the audio keeps playing. It only happens during preview, whenever I export it it turns out fine but it isn't worth the hassle to not be able to see what I am editing, please help.

What version is being used?  Here's the latest.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

What is the resolution of the bulk of the clips and how long is the project?

The best way to track this down is to see it just as you do.  Not the export, but the PORTABLE project.  Please share it as instructed in the link.  It's easy, quick and can be private.

I think it was since I was not using the newest version, I recently updated and figured I would be good for a while. It was crashing while using the old saved project file so I had to export what I had done and work after that on the newest version!
