I just bought 6.14 in February.  I thought it worked back then but I haven't used it much.  I need it now.  Maybe I'm doing something wrong.  I want to screen record my site online to make a video illustration.  When I open the software, I get a smaller black box inside the black screen.  When I hit record, it stays black.  I have to hit record and click to go online while recording.  It never shows the online picture in the smaller picture.  This makes this product completely useless for what I need now.  Secondly, the highlighter only shows on the small black screen and not on my screen recordings.  Lastly, on the youtube videos it shows screen options on the bottom left of the screen, I don't have any options like that.  I have updated the software, so its not that.  PLEASE HELP

The video tutorials are made on an specific version, usually is using an old version, but still you would get the base of the tools and features.   Make sure that yo dont have thenable the Camera Overlay, then  try doing a clean install and delete all the cache of the program. Uninstall your software first, then go to the folder location below on your computer then delete the Debut folders:

C:\ProgramData\NCH Software
C:\Users\(Your computer profile)\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Debut

If you can't find the AppData folder, set Windows to show hidden files and folders with the steps from this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files.

After deleting the Debut folder, restart your computer then install it again from the next link: https://www.nchsoftware.com/capture/debutpsetup.exe

Are you sure that you can uninstall the program and reinstall it later without having to buy it again? 

I bougth Debut Video Capture Pro Edition version 6.02. In the instructions is noted : the license serial number cannot be used again!

I have the same tecnical problem, "black screen", when I want to capture the screen, I would like to reinstall the program but I am afraid to do it.

Thanks for your help! 

The reinstallation has not solved the problem, but the helpdesk gave me a link to a diagnostic version that I have installed. The diagnostic file that was generated will now be examined to find a solution for my problem.

So, I am waiting now on the answer.
