mikey9980
I am so glad I tried the free version before buying this. For one of my DVD drives, selecting that drive in Express Rip causes Express Rip to become non-responsive. Seen that a million times in software however I have never seen software processes that CANNOT be killed in task manager. Express Rip will not die in task manager and even worse you cannot restart or log out! Even if you choose "restart anyway" it will hang your computer forever. The only choice is to cut off power to the computer in a hard boot. This is completely unacceptable quality, what could be the cause? I can see and play tracks from the "offending" drive using windows media player and whatnot so its not a damaged drive. Express Rip is dangerous because you can corrupt files, such as email databases and so forth with hard rebooting.
DannR
In this case, go to the folder location below on your computer then delete the Express Rip folders: C:\ProgramData\NCH Software C:\Users\(Your computer profile)\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Express Rip If you can't find the AppData folder, set Windows to show hidden files and folders with the steps from this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files. Once that you have done with this, try to restart the computer and check again.
