Slideshow project will not load

I downloaded the free version of Photostage slideshow on Feb. 2, 2019 and created slideshows. 

I no longer can retreive these projects.  I bought the professional version of the software, but I still can't retreive the projects.

I get the following message:

This project file was created with a very old versionof Photostage and will be converted.

If you save this project now, you will no longer be able to open it in Photostage 1.x.

 

This cannot be correct, since I created the projects with the latest version available at that time.

The slideshow doesn't open: how can I retreive these slideshows?
