Gridlines on the sharpened layer

I am working on an image which is a scan of a drawing. It consists of black lines and letters on a mostly white background. When I attempt to straighten the image, I can almost see the grid but it appears to be a pure white and is almost invisible. Is there a way to change the color of that grid to something darker like black, blue, red, green?
