I am a newbie but have googled my question to no avail. When I "save as" an image that is 300dpi in PhotoPad it turns into a much lower dpi when I then reopen it on my desktop.

How on earth do I retain the dpi integrity please?

Hello,

Could you be referring to the PPI(Pixels per Inch) or are you actually referring to DPI (Dots Per Inch) which is used when printing?

PPI in Photopad is assumed to be 300 PPI always. If you save the image on your desktop and you open it and click on properties and then go to the details of the image it will show you the DPI which is lower than the PPI set in PhotoPad, because they are 2 different things.

If this is not what you are referring to, I will suggest you contact NCH technincal support for guidance, you can create a ticket for them here: https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html

Hope this helps!
