Need help exporting

Hi! I have a video edited. I added the "negative" filter to every clip in order flip white text to black and the black background to white. I've applied it to every clip. It shows up correct in the Sequence Preview. However, each time I've exported, the first clip is negative and every subsequent clip is not. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

Hi

Are you certain that ALL the clips had the effect applied?  You may have selected all the clips and then clicked the FX button on the first clip to apply the effect but even though the clips are selected or grouped the effect is only applied to the first clip.

Proceed like this...

With all the clips on the timeline..

  • Hover the cursor over the first clip and wait for the name to come up
  • Press Ctrl + A. This will select ALL the clips. (which will go grey.)
  • Click the Video Effects tab on the TOP toolbar...(Not the FX box)
  • Hover over Filters in the menu that comes up
  • Select Negative from the list.
  • Select Apply to All in the dialogue box that appears. (This only comes up if you have multiple clips selected.)

The effect chosen (Negative) will be applied to ALL the clips selected.

The timeline should export in the normal way

Hi

Further to my reply above....

" ....in order flip white text to black and the black background to white."

Why not use black text on a white background in the first place?

If you are doing the text through VP then you could add a blank white background clip (Under "Add Objects" tab.) and add black text to the overlay track. (In the text editor set the text to black and the text editor background to white so you can see it.)

Better still use black text and set the Full background option to white and then there would be no need for the Negative effect or a blank white background clip.
