Works fine technically. But the audio quality is bad when played back using Express Scribe or Windows Media Player (when saved as WAV file)

 

I tried many audio compression options but no luck yet. Any suggestions to improve? I could buy any other moden (PCI or external) if any of you have tested fine. I have this installed on a Windows XP Pro.

I have this modem also, and it worked for a little while, but now it doesn't (after I registered IVM software). What are your settings if I may ask? Perhaps one of my settings is incorrect.

Bump

 

Seems the Telephone Audio Play Process default settings are:

Volume = 0db

Filter = 0hz

Compressor = 0db

 

When I call my answering machine remotely, it never answers the phone, so I never get the OGM. However, when I get home, the computer beeps like it's supposed to, a message is there, but it is blank (just noise). My current settings are:

Vol. = -9db

Filter = 1000hz

Comp. = -9db

 

Any suggestions?
