Eighth note followed by triplet

Hi I'm new to Crescendo, but could someone point me in the right direction?  If I want to enter an 1/8-note rest, followed by an 1/8-note, followed by three 1/8-note triplets, Crescendo seems to want to tie the 4 notes together, which looks very odd to me.  Does anyone know how to separate the 1/8-note from the triplet?  I.e., the 1/8-note should have a tail.

Crescendo is designed to automatically join same notes that are together. Crescendo video tutorials are available at https://www.nch.com.au/notation/tutorial.html

Make sure to include a detailed report of your issue and a screenshot of the notes tied together.
