Is it possible to separate tied notes?

In a South American piece of music one bar has a crotchet followed by a quaver, then a quaver rest, then two quavers. Because of the tempo the last two quavers should not be tied.

I've found ways of "untie"-ing in other cases, but I can't see how to untie these notes.
