Green loading bar for video is glitching

So I was just editing one of my videos and I can't really edit my video without the whole thing being loaded. So I had already done some editing and i was waiting for the green bar to move along some more and it move like 2 minutes ahead and then just jumped back to where it started. And its been repeatedly doing that and I really don't want to restart my project. I have tried clearing the cache but its not working either. Please help!
