using wave pad to clean up ghost box recordings

I'm trying to learn how to enhance voices, not spoken words but dialogue in the background of my recordings. The sound generator used for these recordings to pickup spirit voices is very loud and the voices are very soft.

Any suggestions?

Are there any fellow ghost boxers out there using wave pad? I had wave pad before on my computer but computer crashed and I lost it. I had to buy it again. When I had it before, I could go through a recording bit by bit by clicking my mouse on the scroll bar and clicking away until I could make out a word. But now that I downloaded it again, when I try to do that, instead of the scroll bar keeping moving so I can do that, it stops it and mutes it. I'm so upset because I cannot do what I have to do now. I'm wondering if there is a way or a setting to make the scroll bar keep moving even when I click my mouse on it? Help!! Thanks.
