How do you alter the screen size from standard 4:3 to Widescreen?

I have a video in .MOD format which is filmed in widescreen but when I edit it in VideoPad the software alters the screen size to standard. How do I return the video to widescreen?

I spot no way to change aspect ratios in VP3.10; the file should load in the same AR as it was shot. This page may hold the key to why that's not happening...

First converting the MOD files to another format may resolve the issue.

You can also crop the video down to a 16:9 image, although you'll cut off some of the image. You can also use some video converters to change the aspect ratio but it will distort the image a bit.
