Brentton Posted November 18, 2013 Share Posted November 18, 2013 Hi guys, Hoping you may be able to shed some light on a current issue. I have a client using Open Directory with an OS X 10.8 server and they can't play back dictation recorded on the client machine, when signed in as a network user. There are no real restrictions on the Open Directory account and yet Express Scribe comes up with an error 'Unable to find playback device'. When logged in on the local machine as a local user account, the files playback just fine. I have tried deleting the appropriate plist file as per this article http://www.mac-help.com/threads/mac-os-x-no-audio-from-certain-multimedia-content.1195/ Also checked the Midi.app to ensure the correct audio output and frequency.
