using rectangle for capture

When I click the 'desktop rectangle for capture' button, the Debut interface is in the way. I can't minimize or do Alt+tab to switch to the next window. If I click anything then the rectangle will be disabled.

 

How can I use the rectangle while hiding the Debut interface?

Just proceed to select your recording window. The "Debut interface" will automatically move out of your way as you drag the corner of the dashed rectangle across your screen. If your selected window does not end up in the exact position you need it to be in you can adjust it by clicking on and holding the grips at each corner of the dashed rectangle and dragging them into place.
