ripping tracks without pauses

Is it possible to rip tracks from a CD *without* introducing pauses betwen tracks whilst retaining track names? The 'rip as single track' option loses the track names, but without this a pause is introduced between tracks even when none is present on the CD. Express Rip 1.55 on WinXP SP3

 

In fact the ripped tracks play without gaps betwen tracks on the PC using, for example, Media Player - the mp3 player (Sony Walkman NWZ-A829) can't handle continuous play. Would still like to have the track info in the 'rip as single track' option. This also doesn't appear to retain the album info in the metatdata either.
