  1. Ok whilst I await a new improved version to fix the bug with the .VOB files out of sync problem I thought I would try a different approach. I took a VOB file and converted it to MP4 in Prism then imported it to VideoPad successfully. All was fine and the audio was in sync with the video (unlike with the original in sync VOB version which goes out of sync when imported direct to VP) but the original quality of the audio needed cleaning up beyond what VideoPad was capable of doing so I chose to edit the audio file direct in WavePad from VideoPad. This I completed successfully and then closed WavePad which updated the audio file in VideoPad. The result was the audio was still in sync with video so I selected all and chose "Group Selected Files" to lock in the synchronization. Next I added in a Title at the start on the sequence which was added in at the default 3 seconds, still in sync, then I edited the Title and increased the duration from 3 seconds to 6 seconds BUT this then pushed the video sequence 3 seconds to the right but left the audio track unmoved introducing a 3 second out of sync problem. Adding in a Transition only added to the problem. I have tried a number of different permutations of this approach but out of sync is the result. Interestingly if I adjust the duration of the Title clip from 3 to 6 seconds BEFORE inserting it on the sequence at the start the sync remains correct BUT then if I add in a Transition the sync is thrown out by the duration of the Transition despite being Grouped.I have also tried both Grouping and Ungrouping when adding a Transition in but the problem still exists. So how is this possible when I chose Group Selected Files to lock them to each other?? Isn't this feature supposed to lock the tracks together retaining their relationship and sync to each other or am I missing something here????
  2. Hi, hope you can help. I am placing text to overlay a still image. Using VP7.11 I can set the transition at the end of a text to dissolve. This work in preview and the avi exported video. However, using the same project loaded into 7.12, 7.21 or 7.22 the preview again looks correct but in the exported avi video the text does not dissolve it just cuts off. Also tried MP4, same results. A bug in versions above 7.11?
  3. I only use VP occasionally, it's the best non-professional program -- but this issue now really keeps getting on my nerves: every now and then, I get a "hiccup" in transitions. When I manage to adjust them (playing with the timing or just deleting the transitions because the "hiccup" is still there, no matter what), then I find that one or more of the next transitions break in the same sequence! I'm an organised person normally, so first I gather my video clips in separate folders, build up several sequences, then I link them into a final sequence. I preview it before export, so when I find a broken transition and correct it, I need to re-watch the whole preview every single time to make sure the whole thing looks as intended. It's a neverending story. Hiccup = the transition starts at the end of one clip, then proceeds to the next one but the clip suddenly stops, then jumps across several frames. Or, worse, there's a blackout instead of playing the transition. PS. No, I'm not the one lame idiot who needs to link every single clip by transitions because he thinks it's "cool". The only ones I use here and there: crossfade, fade and fade to white. And again, no, I don't just start any preview, I always wait for the thumbnails to buffer - that is why the whole thing takes ages, because every time you adjust ANYTHING, or load another tab etc., VP will re-buffer the clips and transitions in the sequence...)
  4. Hi VP 2.61 (Beta according to the toolbar) Just noted a a bug in the reverse clip action. Steps to show are as follows. Place two clips on timeline...Clip1 + Clip2 Reverse Clip1 Add a crossfade transition of duration 4 seconds with overlap choice to the join. Timeline plays normally with reversed Clip1and transition to Clip2 Un-reverse Clip 1 Result: The timeline still plays correctly (normal direction now) but only up to the start of the transition. At this point the crossfade uses the reversed start of Clip1 for its fadeout . It should use the normal end of Clip 1. This 2 second segment in the transition is the still reversed end of Clip 1 i.e. It's 2 seconds from the start of Clip 1 reversed. To put this right...If a reversed clip with a transition is un-reversed the action should work from the join and not from the start of the the overlapped transition as this leaves half the transition with the wrong part of the clip (and in reverse.) Nat
  5. Hey all.... Just trying to figure out a problem with a text transition. Once a text block is inserted it is easy enough to zoom in on it enough such that the transition icons show at each end of the clip, and can be clicked to open the transitions window. Once the text fade-in and fade-out are set, I can adjust them further by pulling the edge of the black transition bars along the top edge of each end of the text clip. However, on the text fade-out, even if I pull the bar longer (to the left, in other words) so that the fade-out starts sooner, and with the goal of making the fade-out last longer (slower), what happens is that the fade-out does in fact start at the left edge of the adjusted fade-out bar, but the text disappears just as quickly, long before the cursor has passed through the end of the fade bar. Adjusting the value manually in the transition window does not help. What's the trick on this one? Thanks in advance!
  6. Why do some transitions end abruptly? And how can I have them run until the last frame?
  7. Hi, I have noticed that this question has lready been asked but the answer provided does not match what is happening with my video. I have a Windows 10 (64 bit) computer with Intel Core i5-3330 CPU @ 3 GHz and 8GB RAM. I am using a cross-fade video transition between clips. I first edited the clips themselves, by removing audio, making them black and white and of course, prior to that, clipping them to the desired length. I then applied the cross-fade video transition in such a way that I allowed to move clips to overlap. Before applying a transition, I have also sped them up twice (the idea is that they need to be balck and white and sped up). Surprisingly, the cross-fade transition between the first clip and the second one stalls the video so that towards the end of the first clip the video freezes, then the playhead moves over the beginning of the second clip, this beginning is also frozen, and then suddenly the image in the video strarts moving again. Surprisingly enough, even though I have app;ied the identical transition between the second and the third clip, I am not encountering any such issues there and everything works perfectly fine. What could be causing such an uneven transition just between those first two clips? Many thanks for your feedback. Best regards Wojtek Poland
  8. I am having trouble trying to put transitions between these clips.I need some help. plz. send halp.
  9. Hey, I already asked about this issue before, but it seems I have found the problem now, I just can't find a solution. I made a file and added transitions. Because I couldn't export the video (issue already resolved), I simply saved it. I came back to it today and found out scenes were added and transitions were lost. I think the main issue is that when transitions are added the last scene gets either added or extended to form the transition, but when the program gets rid of my transitions (for whatever reason?), and I add back the transition, the scene added doesn't completely get faded away, thus messing up my entire file. This has happened like three times before now and re-editing everything is a massive job. I'll definitely save without transitions in the future, but for this project, does anybody have any solutions to getting rid of the "scenes" that were added without having to cut and delete every single part of them?
  10. Hello, I'm trying to add transitions between clips. This sometimes works. However, sometimes I select a clip, click on the X between the clips or on the Transitions icon in the toolbar, and the transitions window pops up as normal, but the Transition Properties button at the bottom left is greyed out, and any transition which I select is not applied. Please can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to prevent it? I've tried saving the project first; closing the project and re-opening it; closing the application and re-opening it; having the cursor in the selected clip; having the cursor not in the selected clip; selecting multiple clips.
  11. Still playing with transitions. :-) In my project, all of the transitions freeze the To-clip (Clip briefly during the transition. The out-clip (Clip A) continues and fades out fine, but Clip B freezes the video (audio is fine) for about half of the transition. Any ideas on what may be going wrong?
  12. 2 questions actually 1) If I have Video A and Video B, and I want a circle transition, do I put it on A or B 2) My project was fine, but it got wacky and I rebooted (after saving). Now the transitions that were perfect are now not working, many are simply hard cuts. What happened, how do I fix it and how do I avoid it in the future? Thanks
  13. Whoa! I have a video of a narrator. I want to add the still images from her Powerpoint by dissolving back and forth between her and the slides. In order to keep the original video synchronized I kept it as Track 1, but separated it from the audio. That way, I can split it into video clips if needed for transitions back and forth. But, each time I add a still to video Track 2, everything stays put nicely. But I have to change the "speed" of each image so it appears for the right length of time. When I do change it to, say 30 percent speed, everything else, including the audio track (which is split from the countdown beeps) moves waaay around, like minutes apart on each track. As I add images, I've tried to pin the new ones down by keeping the editing cursor where I want the new clip to start. So, it starts at the right spot, but when I adjust its duration, everything else moves way out of place. The way I've inserted each image, it's in Video Track 2, above its proper place in the video of the narration. On playback, it cuts to the image just fine and there's plenty of space for each one to "grow." I change each image's "speed" so it lasts the right duration while the narrator's talking about it. There's still space left after changing the duration. But changing the speed moves everything else around, too, seemingly randomly. They are far out of place, especially the video and audio of the narrator. That's about 45 minutes total, moves together though they are split from one another, but leave minutes of blank space between the countdown and the start. The resulting jumble is way too hard to re-place in the timeline each time I add something. There will be about 50 slides when the whole thing is done! What am I missing? Thanks! PS I tried to change the subject line of this post, but it won't let me. It should say: "Changing duration of stills above continuous video moves everything else around"
  14. I remember downloading VideoPad a long time ago and there probably being some kind of feature for doing this.... Or maybe I just forgot how to fade in text in general. Help please? :'D
  15. I have a question about editing clips and transitions. I had 4 clips that I edited/took a segment from and placed them on the sequence bar. I did not place any transitions in because I wanted the final version to run seamlessly. When I previewed it, it did just that, made one seamless video. However, after I saved it into .avi and played that back on my computer, every time there was a "transition" the screen flashed black. This is kind of annoying. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to upload/change something?
  16. I do instructional videos. I like to place (text) key concepts on the lower third of the screen. I can fade out, but the only way I see I can fade in is to cut the video at the fade in point. Is there another way of doing this?
