  1. Forking this audio discussion out of the topic 100 clip multi screen method... Manifesting as a kind of burbling or flutter in the hiss of ambient noise captured from wind in trees (I presume), the distortion was introduced in the export from VP. I have now checked more closely using just the one video clip (a long shot of a flag waving in the breeze). The VP Preview sounds the same as the original MP4 file - the hiss or wind noise is smooth across the spectrum. Exported to MP4 and it is degraded by the H264 and H265 video codecs, whether the audio bit rate is 128 or 192kbps. In MP4, VP gives no choice of audio codec - only AAC-LC is available. Surprisingly, choosing the MPEG-4 video codec results in audio quality that is indistinguishable (or nearly so) from that of the source clip. H264 AVC is supposed to be better than MPEG-4 (I know the H264 standard encompasses MPEG-4 but those are the labels VP puts on its choices) for video but it should have no effect on the audio stream when its encoder is the same. Using the Default Quality/Filesize setting in VP, here are some parameters for the resulting files: Video Compressor Filesize AudioBitRate VideoFormat H264 5.87MiB 192kb/s AVC H265 1.52MiB 192kb/s HEVC MPEG-4 4.48MiB 166kb/s MPEG-4 Visual All above set at Default Quality/FileSize, 30fps, 192kb/s It's puzzling that VP produces a larger file from the "H264" "Compressor" than from the "MPEG-4" when the former is supposed to be able to produce a much smaller file for the same picture quality or a higher video quality for a given file size. It's as though VP wants the H264 "default quality" to be much better than MPEG-4's yet I could see no discernible difference in the waving flag. And despite the MPEG-4 actual bitrate for audio being lower (according to MediaInfo), it sounds much better on the wind noise than H264. I even tried "High Quality" H264 (twice the file size) but that, too, suffers the same audio impairment. So I think there is something seriously wrong with VP's implementation of the H264 and H265 codecs and the only viable choice for MP4 format is the MPEG-4 "Compressor". P.S. The H264 and MPEG-4 exports for Default Quality/FileSize can be auditioned here
  2. Hi Team, I`m testing the Express Talk with our SIP PBX. I found that Express Talk supports video codec h263 only. is it possible to enable h264? or will it be supported in the future version? Looking forward to your reply. Thanks
  3. I am producing a collaborative music video with various members of the band sending me their individual recordings for me to edit together. One video I have received does not play in the Windows 10 Film player app, saying that HEVC codec is required. However the video does load into videopad 🙂 . I was also able to generate my low-res proxy using Any Video Converter. What is odd though is that when I include this in my project with the other clips, something strange seems to be happening when I add / remove effects and view the clip in the clip & sequence previews. Sometimes the video shows correctly, and then it will switch to being stretched to a different width. It doesn't seem to be consistent when and why it does this. Deleting the cache and rebooting doesn't seem to fix it either. The video is in 9:16 (1920x1088) and my project is 16:9. Seems to be happening with both the original and my low-res proxy, but have mostly been using the latter. I have now re-coded the video, by using the Stretch to Aspect Ratio effect in videopad and exporting just this clip. This seems to have fixed it, but I thought people might be interested in case this is a subtle bug in VP somewhere. I am currently using v8.31. I will upgrade to latest version at some point, but am in the middle of this and another couple of projects at the moment, so don't want to do this just yet. Phil
  4. How do you select the codec you want? I need audio: AAC-LC and video: H.264 to speed up processing for Youtube. As it takes forever. I don't see anything about codecs in the options when exporting. . Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -- Jim
Gracias
