  1. Hey there, LYoung Sure it does. After you install it, set all your configurations, like mp3 or wave, remember: To record, you must go to Control Panel|Sounds|Playback tab and select Sound Tap as Default. Once you are finished recording, you go BACK to Control Panel and re-select your normal Playback Default. So, when you first make the change, make sure you note what the default was. Also, everything else would work as long as you have Sound Tap started. But, who would want that anyway? So got back and do the re-selecting of your original default Playback. I just installed 1.30. When I would finish recording in 1.25, I could see and re-name my files right there in Find and Play. In 1.30 they do not show, I need to go to Recordings via Windows Explorer. >>RSM
  2. Hi, sure. But if you were doing O.K., I probably will not be any help. At first, in Vista, I did not understand the business of going to Control Panel|Sound and having to change *Playback* to Sound Tap Recorder. I mean, you know, that makes absolutely no intuitive sense. But, that IS what the instructions say. And, then, to play back though my player (WMP, Real, or Winamp) having to go BACK and change it again. That is it in a nutshell. So, I am sure this did not help you, and I only hope that your experience does not indicate what I will experience. I am used to Total Recorder, an absolutely bullet proof piece of software, but not yet ready for Vista Prime Time. I mean, those guys at highcriteria.com who put out Total Recorder should be ashamed. All this time to get ready for SirectSound and they can not get it done??? Best of luck. >>RSM

  4. Well, I guess I lied. I apparently had not tried everything. I did not understand the business of constantly needing to make changes in Control Panel|Sound. Now I do, and everytning is running fine. >>RSM
  5. I have solved my problems. Everything is running fine. >>RSM
  6. I have the mp3 codec, I made sure of it, and it has not helped me. I have tried everything under the sun to get Sound Tap to record something, I have tried three players, all of the different sound input choices, nothing works. I am seeing this all over the Sound Tap forum: no files after recording. The Help files are no help, the replies I have seen on the forum questions just do not get anything done. Fortunately for me, I still have Total Recorder 6y.1 on my XP machine, which is what i am trying to replace with Sound Tap on my Vista machine, so I am not losing any work. But, this is just not getting it done. Any advice??? >>RSM
  7. I just installed this software. I have tried every setting I could with input, the codec is fine, nothing is getting me any recorded files. My system is Vista Home Premium, I use Winamp, WMP, and RealPlayer, I will answer any question you want or go down any avenue you suggest. I want this software to work because I do a lot of recording, I have Total Recorder 6.1 on my XP machines and that is fine; but HighCriteria.com just does not have its act together for DirectSound. So, I NEED this software to work. >>RSM
