  1. OK. So now I'm using Version 5.21 and there's more problems that weren't there previously. The Find and Play applet doesn't sort the recordings in any sane order. Added to this the column headers don't sort the columns when clicked. The arrow on the header changes but nothing gets sorted. This used to work before. PLEASE get it right. Can we have the column headers sort the columns as they should and can the sort order be RETAINED between sessions? It really shouldn't be too hard to fix this. I make my living as a software developer. If I tried to sell software with glaring bugs in it like this I'd be out of business. Can you tell I'm not happy??
  2. Fix the bug that stops VRS from working after Windows wakes from "Sleep". I made you aware of it last version and it still hasn't been fixed in the latest version. Fix the bug the starts VRS recording for a short period after the "Find and Play" applet is closed. Concentrate on bug fixes instead of questionable new incremental "features" that you then want to charge an upgrade fee for.
  3. I've just installed the trial of version 5.18 and a bug from the last version STILL hasn't been fixed despite it being drawn to NCH's attention. After the machine has been in "Sleep" mode, it is a hit and miss affair if VRS will start or not. The VRS service has to be stopped and then started again before it will work. Added to this, they seem to have introduced a new bug. When the "Find and Play" applet is closed, VRS starts a new recording that lasts for about 10 seconds.
  4. I see that NCH wants to charge me for the privilege of installing the latest incremental upgrade to the VRS recording system. i.e from 5.09 to 5.15. The question I have is: have they fixed the bug (that should have been fixed long ago) that stops VRS from working after Vista has been awakened from "Sleep" mode?
  5. Does anyone know if this problem has ever been fixed? I purchased the software quite some time ago but have never used it because of this bug. VRS emailed me ages ago and acknowledged that this is a bug. This bug renders the software useless to anyone who regularly uses Standby (XP) or Sleep (Vista) mode on their PC.
  6. I'm recording via a hardware telephone line to audio adapter. There is plenty of signal and the only time that I have a problem is after the system has been in Standby. As far as the channel is concerned: I have voice activated recording selected, detect time is 12 seconds and the detect level is -28db. Once again, all of these settings work fine every time I make a call or receive a call except after the system has been in Standby. Most times (but not all) the application won't record via voice activation after I resume from Standby. As I said in my previous post, when the problem manifests after the system has been in Standby, Windows Recorder records fine. This tells me that I don't have a hardware problem. If I close VRS and reopen it, recording works as it should again. If I stop the VRS service and restart it, recording works as it should again. As far as I can see, this has to be a bug in VRS.
  7. OK, I've purchased VRS and the problem still is there. I've done a clean install of XP SP2, didn't install anything else except VRS and the problem is still there. 9 out of 10 times it won't automatically record an outgoing or incoming call after the machine has been in "Standby". If I close and reopen VRS all is well. If I stop the VRS service and then restart it, all is well. At the same time that VRS won't record, Windows Recorder records fine. This tells me that my hardware is fine and that this is definitely a bug in VRS, and a serious one at that. Can anyone else confirm that this is happening for them? If any NCH people read this forum, is a fix going to be forthcoming?
  8. Hey, I'll reply to this one myself. At least then I'll get a reply! My windows install was getting old and the association of my links had been screwed by Firefox. I knew I should have stuck with IE7. At least it works well most of the time on all web pages. Have done a clean install of XP SP2 and all is now good with the Help Menu links.
  9. OK. So I've paid for the software, downloaded the most up to date version from the website, registered it, but there's still no help file and the web links on the help menu still don't work. What gives? HELP.

    No Help File

I'm using the trial version of VRS Recording System. The Help and the web links on the Help menu don't work. It is supposed to be like this?
  11. I am running the trial version of VRS on my Windows XP SP2 machine. After the system has been in "standby" mode, VRS will not begin to automatically record an outgoing or incoming call. I have to close VRS and restart it before recording becomes functional again. Is anyone else seeing this and is there a simple fix?
