update we tried changing the speed of the clip while it was in the project window and it works fine. moved it to the timeline and it repeated what it did originally.

We created a clip with pictures with transitions between the pictures we saved it as a video file and inserted it into another project. We wanted to speed up the clip up in the new project but it only shortens the clip and it doesn't speed it up. Any suggestions?
