Hi, I've been working with the Pan & Zoom effect. I wondered if its possible to edit and refine the start and end frame positions after initially setting them? I know they can be set when the effect is first applied, but it seems like after I preview the effect, the boundary selections for each disappears and the only way I have found to retrieve it is to remove the effect and re-apply it. Is this how it should be, or am I missing something here? Using v16.09. Thanks.

Thanks as always @borate I think this install looks to be the same VP version I'm already using. I tried with this install and faced the same problem, but I tried to take Snapshots using the preset image sizes, and these saved. It seems like the blank images are only being generated when I'm trying to save using the custom size option and only for certain dimensions.

Hi all. I've recently updated to V16.09 from an older version that might have been two or three years old. Since the update, I've noticed that when using the 'Take Snapshot of Sequence' option has been returning 'blank' images. They appear as transparent in the Videopad Image clips, and the actual files in the folder look like black PNG images. I'd at first thought they might have somehow been taking snapshots of the wrong video track, but the same thing happens when I use a project with a single video track. I've tested this with both projects that were started in the previous version, and brand new projects, and with an array of different video files as source. I couldn't find any posts with this noted as a known issue. Is there anything I could do myself to rectify this? Thanks.

Thanks Borate, that is the solution I used. Is there a way to move the templates into other projects?

This may not be the most elegant solution, but I was facing the same problem as you. I solved it by Cropping the original video, and exporting as is. I opened the video in an image editor to figure out the dimensions of the space I wanted to keep. Once I'd noted those, I used the Scale effect to move my cropped image to the centre of the project, and exported the video to the cropped video dimensions that I'd calculated with Photoshop set to 'Crop and Zoom.'

I've been thinking of upgrading my VideoPad and went to do so today. I checked my current version and I'm on VideoPad Professional v8.06. It seems the current options are Home and Master's Edition. Which of these would be the equivalent of what I am using now?

Hi, I've been using some of the effects to remove noise from some video transfers that I am working with. I've found 'common' settings that have worked well with the footage that I'm using, and have saved them as Effect Chain Templates. Is it possible to also add my own settings to the 'Preset' menu that some of the effects have? So that I could find the settings within each effect that work well for the type of things I work with, and use that same preset effect setting in other projects.

Hi all, I am working on a project that includes some still images, and hoped that some experts in using the different Effects might be able to offer some suggestions. I had hoped to make some of the image appear as though they were lit by candlelight. I've been experimenting with some of the in-built effects, like a combination of 'Spotlight' and 'Old Film,' to help give the impression the image is lit by a flickering candle. Would any one have other suggested Effects I might try to get this outcome, or even some extra Plug-Ins that I could look into? Thanks!

Hi again, I'm not sure if this will be something that has a fix or solution. I'm working to adjust clip speed slightly so that the footage fits to a set timeframe. At the moment, I've just been experimenting with the speed percentage. I wondered as I am doing this if there is any option to do the reverse - set a duration, and have the clip adjust speed to match?

Thanks for the tips. It actually worked when I applied the effects in the reverse order of what I had been - Ripple first, and then transparency.

Hi all, I haven't posted here in a while - I must be getting the hang of using Videopad! I have been trying to use a combination of effects on my Video 2 track, to play over the 'base' video on Track 1. Specifically, I had tried to use a Ripple effect on the Video 2 track, with transparency. One or the other of these effects worked correctly, but with both in place, they only showed the track 1 beneath. Are there some effects that are not compatible with one another, or perhaps a hierarchy of applying the effects? I can think of ways around this (i.e., applying effects, exporting track, adding the exported video as a new asset) but would be more convenient if it were possible to applying several effects at once. Thanks for any advice you may have!

Could something similar to this be used to make a single image 'slide' across the page? I wasn't sure if VideoPad would be the best solution for this. I'm hoping to make a clip using two 4:3 images, and making it slide from one side to the other. I was even thinking it could be easier to animate something like that in something like PowerPoint, but thought that VideoPad MAY have a more elegant solution.

I'm on version 8.06. Is that why I don't see that Replace Chain icon?

Hi all, Sorry for another question about Effects - I know that I've had a lot lately! I was wondering if we have a way to manually adjust levels? I've found the auto levels, but no way to manually adjust like other software has? I'm working on adjusting some footage to appear as though it was shot at night.

Hi. I wondered if there is a way to apply video effects to more than one clip at a time on a sequence? So far the only way I have found has been to arrange my clips into a sequence, and export the project as a new video to add to a new sequence to apply the effect to. I've tried selecting numerous clips and also adding the applicable clips to a group, but neither of these have worked. Is there a simpler way than what I have been trying? Thanks!

Hi all, Once you've finished your projects in VideoPad, what kind of tools are you using to author them to disc? I tried a few for DVD and stuck with DVDStyler. It gave me the freedom to create menus and features as complex or simple as I needed them to be. I'd like to try the same with Blu Ray. Are there any authoring tools that members can recommend? I have found DVDStyler to be a perfect match for what I need, so if anyone knew a similar tool suitable for creating Blu Ray projects, I'd be very interested to hear about your experiences.
