  1. Good afternoon Borate Many thanks for your help. Much appreciated, I did as you suggested and it all seems to work but,,,,,, I have a mass of pictures some in folders and many just saved, I do not see a SEARCH tab so I could just search for VP bin. Is there a way to do this? stay safe Drew
  2. Good afternoon Makubx Thanks for the support. Much appreciated, I went through the second suggestions, ie Options, send to and browse, but I thought it might be OK to make a new folder on the desktop so I could see it easily, and name it (VPJ in my case) so that any snaphots would go there. I found that in the browse and selected it. Nut there was no OK so I have to think that selecting it would be OK and closed it. I set up a NEW video and went throuh the steps and paused and did the F11. The ususal twitch. Mminimised it and opened the VPJ folder in hope that it would be there, No such luck, the folder ws and still is empty. Have I missed something ? Please put me right.
  3. Good morning all A short time ago I asked how to capture still from a video. I was instructed to pause the video at the point where I needed a still, then press F11. This I did and after a slight twitch on screen it seemed to have happened. This was good. I was also told that the still would be automatically saved into my 'pictures'. To search through a host of photos is labour intensive indeed, so is there a way to find the still by name or number, as apart from actually seeing the still amngst a mas of others is difficult. I have both my old trusty W 7 where the word 'pictures' is shown, and on my standby W10 it says 'photos', So is there a reference applied to each still that is saved to make finding it easier,,? MAny thanks in advance, stay safe, Drew
  4. Good afternoon all. Let me set the scene. I am starting to attempt relief carving of a subject taken from a photo. To allow this I have to creeate a 3d model to be able to create the toolpaths to do the carving. All I need to do is to seperate the subject, in this case a person from the background, so the finished carving is of that person on a plain flat background within a seleted boundary. I initially found how to do it on Youtube, and then found that as I was using the basic PhotoPad the Remove Background in the Tools section was missing. OK so far? Then I saw that I had to have the Pro version, I bought it and did all the god stuff andgot it working, I followed a great Youtube video step by step https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wpfiFwq8Og and found that though it started the progress slider at the bottom of the page flashed on for a few swconds it then vanished without removing the background. You can see this is in the screen shot below. The end result so far is that even after leaving the programme running for an hour or more, the background stayed firmly in place. No doubt I have missed something, so PLEASE can some far more capab;e person than I with this, point me in the right direction. My thanks in advance. Stay safe EG aka Drew. PS it seems now that I cannot add the Screenchot picture, I cannot Drag and Drop it and see no link as to ADFD FILES pn here.
  5. Hi DannR. Many thanks for your help. Much appreciated, I now have the timeline how I want it with black clips on a whit track and the background white, It makes it so much easier for me. I think or remember in the past that I could hover the cursor over the bottom edge of oa track (In the left had side panel where we ee all th track info, and by holding the left mouse button I could widen the depth of the track. Again this was a great help to me. but it seems to have ben dropped now. Pity really, but there it is. I am making a Radio Play (For fun) of a short thriller I wrote some time ago. . I have done this before with all the usual sound effevts, Geting folks to volunteer their voices was impossible so I use Morphvox to create different voices for the actors, This is quite a time concuming thing but I find it rewarding. If you have any other info please tell me as every little helps. Best to you and yyours EG
  6. Hi all. I have just been able to return to MixPad after a long absence due to sight problems and am now very sight challenged so I have difficulty with colours like grey on black. I remember in the past with an older version now long gone that I was able to getthe CLASSIC version with the white background. I have upgraded now to the newest version and find the black background even with bright clips almost impossible to make out. I am totally unable to find where to do ths change to CLASSIC, And the HELP files are so massive andd there is no SEARCH BOX which I could use. So can some very kind and helpful person out there PLEASE point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance, EG
  7. Hi Nat . Many thanks for your help, it is much appreciated. I always save each time I do alterations, so I deleted this version and went back to the last one saved. That one works fine so I just carried on from there. Anyway, I have learned another facet of the software which is always a help. I tried going back (undo) but I was going too far back for it to be useful. Best to you and yours EG.
  8. HI all Once again my memopry has let me down. This event happened once before and I was told the solution, but it has jhappened again and I am stuck/ Somehow I inadvertantly hit something that made ALL the tracks mute. OK I know you can mute an individual track using the button on that thrack or over at the far left side. but now ALL the tracks have greyish tint. The video plays just great. but NO SOUNDS. I remember that there is a box somewhere to untick that removes all the muting, but where is it ??? I have been through every little icon in every part of the site, but it is hiding somewhere and I just can't find it. So PLEASE will some kind person put my heated brain to rest. Thanks in advance Elderly Hent,
  9. Being new to this software (I have been using Sony Vegas) I would really appreciate some kind person telling me HOW TO REDUCE THE SOUND VOLUME IN JUST A PART OF A VIDEO CLIP so that a voice over can be inserted. This means that the whole clip would start at the normal volume, but when the cursor reaches the part needed to be quitened that would happen to a lower volume set to allow a voive over and then return to the original volume at the end of the selected part. The volumee slider at the far left lowers the volume for the whole clip. Is there an easy way or am I going to have to cut out the slected part and put it in another video track with the volume reduced. If that is so then how do I keep the two parts on either side of the selected part open and not just closing the gap. Sorry to be a bother but this problem is getting to me. Many thanks in advance. I am using the altrest version of the software.... if that helps. E.G.
