  1. Same here. I am also UK based, but this problem comes and goes. Sometimes it will behave itself, other times I have to set the validity dates two hours ahead. Annoying indeed. I've also found that my BMS don't delete expired music/announcements properly. I have several expire at the same time and only one will be deleted. Doesn't help that the auto-delete settings are most ambiguous to say the least.
  2. When is the next release due out and what improvement will be made? I'm hoping to be able to make sub-groups of music within the list (group A, B, C, etc) and set music play patterns eg 1. A, A, A, A, A, A, A, A... (just one group) 2. A, A, A, B, A, A, A, B... 3. A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B... 4. A, A, A, B, A, A, A, C... 5. A, B, A, C, A, B, A, C... 6. A, B, C, A, B, C, A, B... (alternating groups) Each play pattern with its own commence/expire date like music and announcement tracks. The music player would still choose random tracks but only from the assigned music group... for instance, three random songs from group A followed by a random song from group B for sequence number 2 above. The ability to control music play in this way would be particularly useful around December when I would want to gradually phase in Christmas music without having to keep reprogramming the BMS player. I haveve tried doing this using the rotation % rates in music control but it hasn't been a huge success, last year BMS preferred to play all the christmas music back to back and in alphabetical order. A strict play sequence like what I suggested would prevent this from happening, and with commence/expire dates it could all be programmed way in advance, much better.

    Auto-deletion help

I think the auto-delete feature is an excellent idea, but I find it very confusing and difficult to use. I just want it to delete all the expired music and announcements as and when they expire. I'm no more enlightened having read the BMS manual. Perhaps an experienced BMS user would be kind enough to explain how it works and what different options from the drop down menus and values in the boxes next to them do. Many thanks
  5. Have you tried lowering the master volume a few dbs? I have mine at -12db and the music fades completely when an announcement plays or you press the microphone page button.

    Music rotation rates

Hello. Since it's nearly December I'm starting to use Christmas music on our existing BMS playlist. At the moment I only want the festive tunes (about 170 of them) to play once in every five or so regular songs (approx 670 of them). I have the normal tracks set at 25% rotation and the christmas ones at 30%, the idea being to gradually increase the rotation %age of the seasonal music to 100% the closer Christmas approaches. The BMS player is actually playing all the Christmas songs one after another then move onto the non-festive tracks. How do I get them to blend in properly? Another thing I've discovered is it prefers to play the tracks in alphabetical order for awhile after me loading them onto the player, it can take an age to sort itself out and start choosing songs at random. I have recently (in the last week) reloaded the player with the colossal tracks (nearly 850 of them, 170 being Christmas songs with a commence time set at 22:00 GMT on 22/11/08) and the normal tracks are still playing alphabetically even though we have BMS running for an average of 12 hours a day - could this have something to do with it? The only solution I can think of is to load the Christmas music as announcements, but that won't work as we already use our own announcements. Any help would be much appreciated.
  9. Suggests that the sound file is missing. Is there a .mp3 and .raf file for every track in the BMS folder?

    Wavepad won't save

    I'll give that a try - thanks!
  11. If I edit a file in Wavepad and click save it will say it has been saved but the changes won't take effect. If I save as a new file that file won't play. This has only happened recently, I have found the software very reliable up until now. I have Wavepad Masters Edition.
  12. Other than this forum, I don't know. You can purchase support programmes with your software, but nobody seems to come on this forum much.
  13. Update - I've got Vista to act as XP and that sorted most of the problems! It must be a compatibility issue between BMS and Windows Vista.
  14. It could be that feature remains indifferent until you purchase the software license. I have recently purchased the professional BMS and I haven't tried it with announcements yet but I know the music certainly does adhere to the commence/expiry dates. Hopefully this is of some use to you.
