  1. I would really appreciate it if you could send me the Word macro for getting time stamps into Word from Express Scribe too please! Best regards
  2. About 5 yrs ago I bought an Olympus RS 24 footpedal as I already had the Olympus transcription software, but wanted the flexibility of all the different file types Express Scribe offered. However, the Olympus footpedal was not recognised by Express Scribe, which meant I had to buy another footpedal for a similar price from NCH. The problem was compounded by the fact that it turned out I could only have one footpedal connected at a time - very frustrating when there were features and benefits offered by the Olympus transcription software that were sadly much more inferior in Express Scribe.
  3. Express Scribe plays the file that is highlighted. Try clicking on a different file. Regards Wendy
  4. You need to search away from NCH's website as I think they only host the most up to date version. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please. Here is a link to a free download of Express Scribe V 4.10 - please note that it is not compatible with Windows Vista. Regards
  5. I have Variable Speed set to Slow 75%, Fast 125%. To stop and relisten, set your Auto-Backstep on Stop to something between 1000 and 5000 ms (ie. between 1 and 5 seconds). I have mine set to 2000 ms. In the Rewind and Fast-Forward box, I have Constant Speed Rewind Step (ms) 400 Speed (%) 400 (but can go as high as 800%) Forward Step (ms) 400 Speed (%) 400 Have a go at these and see how you go. If you want more Backstep on Stop, just increase to 2500 or 3000 ms (2.5 or 3 seconds) and test it to see what you prefer. You may also want to increase the Rewind and Fast Forward settings, or change to Increasing Speed. It's mostly personal preference.
  6. Thank you, nchto. I had wondered whether my application had been 'lost' under the 'to do' pile. As I don't have an email address for contacting regarding queries like this, I opted for the forum. In hindsight, I probably should have PM'd one of the moderators. Anyway, thanks for your response. I'll just keep checking from time to time. Regards wtyping
  7. I'm just another transcriptionist so I don't know for sure, but you may need to close and reopen Express Scribe. There should only be the most recent files remaining under Recover Old Files. I've just checked mine and I only have old files for the specified number of days before deletion.
  8. Go to Settings - Files - where it says Auto Delete, enter the number of days you wish to keep your audio files.
  9. I was wondering how long it takes after submitting the application form before a new Transcription Services listing is actioned. I originally submitted my application on Sunday, 8 April, and after checking the listing several times I submitted another application on Tuesday 1 May. The only response I have had so far are the two automatic response emails when the forms were submitted. The required link to NCH's website is at Transcription Service. I also purchased a Site Licence for WebDictate last year, and I would really appreciate an indication as to when I might expect my Transcription Service to be listed. Thank you for attending to this matter. Regards wtyping
  10. I am attempting to register my Transcription Service on the Services page using the form through the link in Express Scribe. I've finished filling out the form but when I submit the form it comes back with an 'incomplete' form message, even though I have filled in all the required *fields and the two optional text windows as well. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks in advance. wtyping Melbourne
