  1. You mean 5.12? Yes, higher version do not have this bug. But they sure mess up my shell menu:
  2. I understand the idea behind adding new entries- they serve as an add [they inform you about the existence of VideoPad etc.]. But the user should be able to turn it off, once they are noticed- and their offerings are deemed by the user as unnecessary [because you do not edit videos] I won't waste any more time on this preposterous problem. I will restore my system to the point when I had 4.35, which was working A-OK [aside from this bug: http://nch.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/24293-ø-m4a-bug-x2/]. And when I will be finally forced to move up to Windows 10 [when Microsoft stops supporting Windows 7], then I will install Switch first- in hope that all the players and files associated to them will not get those useless for me shell entries [because they will be installed after Switch]
  3. I had an older version installed [4.35]. It took me back then some tweaks in the registry to have it the way I wanted: with only "Convert to .flac" and "Convert to .wav" under the right-click menu, and with those file formats at the same time being playable via left click in my audio player Now, after upgrading to version 5.12, I still have what I had, but sometimes also these entries: - Convert video file - Edit video file - Convert with Switch Sound File Converter Why does newer version adds these two first commands to some of video formats and to third one to video and audio formats; without asking first for permission? I do not have the Other > Context Menu > Add Switch to the Windows Explorer right click-menu selected. And yet it does not matter if I install new version over the old one or remove the old one, reset the system and then install the new one; and it does not matter if I re-select and de-select that option Am I really suppose to go through registry, manually tracking all these entries [which are in multiple location as I already checked] and remove them by myself? Why does an audio user like myself who sometimes does only audio conversion, who has nothing to do with videos aside from watching them, have to have his shell menu filled with commands of no use? Why does version 5.12 create such an issue while the 4.35 did not [4.35 had to be adjusted by me in regards to audio formats only]
  4. Apparently the did, since at least version 4.35
  5. Try converting first to some other format Or try for a test changing name of such a file to a one letter one, to see, if it is not a case of some unusual [diacritic] signs causing this
  6. Apparently there is a double bug [in version 4.35 on Windows 7 x64] 1] When converting a file that has "ø" sign in it, it some cases that sing will be changed to ordinary "o". For example when converting from M4A to WAV and from MP3 to M4A, but not when converting from WAV to MP3 2] When converting a file that has "ø" sign in it, it some cases that file will be speed up by [i think] 200%. For example when converting from M4A to WAV, but not when converting from FLAC or MP3 to WAV
  7. Yes, they are not supported; and yet they [half] work
  8. Although the official list [http://www.nch.com.a...ch/kb/1405.html] does not mention the support for neither M2TS & VOB file formats, somehow they are supported, because you can convert audio from them when you load such files to Switch window Unfortunately when the Options > Right Click "shortcuts" are enabled and do work for various audio formats and some video one too [like MKV], those shortcuts do not appear in shell menu when right clicking an M2TS or VOB file The user have to manually add to the registry entries like [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\SystemFileAssociations\.m2ts\Shell\Convert to .flac using Switch\command] @="\"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\NCH Software\\Switch\\switch.exe\" -convert -format .flac \"%L\"" or [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\SystemFileAssociations\.vob\Shell\Convert to .wav using Switch\command] @="\"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\NCH Software\\Switch\\switch.exe\" -convert -format .wav \"%L\"" in order for those shortcuts to appear for M2TS and VOB
  9. I've installed 5.08 over my old one. No change in behavior Then I rebooted system. No change Then I turned off those options and after reset turned them back on. No change Then I tried using the third slot which was turned off. No change Then I uninstalled the old version, rebooted system and installed the new 5.08. No change Then I switched from WAV and FLAC to MP3. No change 14 [or less] selected files I can convert using shortcuts in my context menu. 15 files [or more] I don't get those options anymore And also: why there are only 3 slots to by used? This converter handles much more formats that just 3
  10. I find this Options > Righ-Click ability very useful: it allows for creating shell menu entries, so that I do not have to open the Converter window But it seems that those menu shortcuts seem to work only for no more than 15 files selected at the same time, no matter the format. If i add one more to the selection, then I have to load them up to the program's window and convert them the normal way I'm using version 4.35
