I just downloaded the latest version of WavePad 3.05 and the noise reduction does help.....but is there anyway to not have noise in the first place?

Using Wavepad v 1.2 - I record an audio and save it as 16 bit 48 kHz Stereo and keep this as my original. I then resave as an MP3 to use with my online tutorial- because I have heard that MP3 is better for faster delivery via the web. Is this ok and how to I reduce the amount of noise I seem to get in the audio. I am using a small lav mic to record with....

How can I save uncompressed 16bit PCM format using the free version 1.2 of Wavepad? I do not see this as a Save As option.

For basic voice over audio using Wavepad v 1.2 - can anyone tell me what is a good CBR setting (kbps) while saving a file as a MP3 - for example I am currently using the 32 setting? I am also using a Sample Rate of 11025 (mono). Thanks
