Just downdloaded the free version (Feb 2015). Every time I try to pan a track it brings up the "surround sound editor". Very confusing. Can I disable this? Even if I use this SSE it doesn't seem to work, and I can't SEE where everything is panned on the actual PAN button.

I know this is an old thread, but I was having a similar problem and was able to separate the left and right edit -> split file ->split file into its component channels
