  1. One track is on the A side of the 2x horizontal split effect, the other is on the B side. A higher track is an 'overlay.'

  5. Suspect this may be an incompatibility between versions, but it will be reported. Drop back to this release. Ignore any virus warnings. And use the attached VPJ file in lieu of your original. Just click though the prompt that pops up during loading. No issues with fades were noted here; adding them to several text files didn't alter what followed. While compatibility between releases is normally good, it's not 100% guaranteed. It's usually best to edit an entire project with the initial version used, or one that was released close to it in time. Laura-Home_TEXT_rev - Copy.vpj

  7. Tough to pin down without analyzing the project. Suggest that VP be closed then relaunched without loading the project. Go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Then load. This should clear out possible cache corruption.
  8. Adding an effect - unless, perhaps, it's a speed change - won't alter sync. For protection... Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  9. Go to OPTIONS | ADVANCED and at the bottom GPU area change to None (CPU Only), and see if that makes a difference. We can't check out your links because they are restricted. Click on SHARE and change them to "anyone with link can view." Be sure that the project has been saved in this manner. Simply uploading the VPJ file is of little use. Cache Issues

Use this release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If there's an issue, you can always revert. The VPJ File

Don't have a Mac here, but Windows procedures should be very similar. Save AS opens the file manager where you can choose the folder where the VPJ control file is to be saved. After choosing a folder, Videopad remembers the last save location and this will be the default Save AS choice the next time you save. You can change it. What's seen under MEDIA settings refers to something else, not the VPJ. When the VPJ loads it will restore the entire project as it was on the timeline when saved. A VPJ is never added to the media bin or timeline. OPEN FILE is used to load a VPJ project. ADD FILES is for adding video, audio, etc. to the bin, for editing. The caret to the right of the OPEN icon will present a list of recently opened projects. If you do manage to load the project, even if there is no audio, please share it for analysis. Someone here will help solve the problem. Follow these exact steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. Right-click the file and click SHARE. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. The VPJ File

The VPJ tells the program what to do. It's never added to the timeline. Before loading the project, go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Launching a VPJ will open the project in Videopad. Alternatively, with VP already open, click FILE | OPEN PROJECT. Find the VPJ, and click it. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. If the issue persists, come back here.
  14. May well be a YT issue. Export the file in a YT compatible format such as mp4. Then use their uploader... https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/57407?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop If that fails come back here for further analysis.
  15. If it's a standalone clip there should be fade icons... If it's the beginning clip, the fade IN icon appears; if at the end, the fade OUT. Fades can also be programmed by keyframing the TRANSPARENCY effect... Various fade TRANSITIONS can be applied between clips... Click the images to enlarge.
  16. Share your project and someone will help. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... 17. Close the program. Reopen, but do not load the project. Go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Then reload the project. Test the latest. 18. You can try to relink. This will pull A/V back into sync. Also there's a grouping option, which may or may not help your issue... Select the video and audio tracks, then right-click and Group Selected Clips. If either audio or video are edited independently, sync won't be maintained. Confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are current... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html Dangerfreak might want to upload a project for testing.
  19. If the files are both audio and video (linked) then sync should be retained. Share a project that does this and someone will experiment. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... 20. Can't say why that is, but it was the same here. UNinstalling the alleged 16.04 deleted both entries, requiring a reinstall and re-register. Probably best just to ignore.
  21. Please share the file that had no audio in Videopad, and state the version of the program in use. (Look at the bottom-left of the window.) Here's how... Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share. Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view.
