  1. Well, I guess Im the only one having problems loading soundfiles (via the 'add media' function) in VP 2.22. Yet the same files load just fine in the free 2.12 version. Very frustrating considering also that VP 2.22 cost over $50. For instance, this morning I tried again to load a .wav file in VP2.22. As always, it loaded perfectly in 2.12 while 2.22 gave me the following error message: "could not open file " followed by the file path and name. Below are the wav file's properties. Any help most appreciated. john .wav file size: 21,25 MB (0% compressed) Original size: 21,25 MB Length: 2 minutes 48 seconds Channels: 1 (mono) Sample rate: 44,1 kHz Sample size: 24 bit Bit Rate: 1,058 kbps (DVD) Encoder Settings: PCM Audio Quality: Perfect (lossless) Contains: Id Tag (BEXT v0) Channel Mapping: Center Type: wav ( .wav )
  2. Thanks Nat. Im new to VP and do appreciate your very kind helpfulness. Re stereo field settings... well, if VP doesnt do panning, I guess I could always mixdown my tracks first externally in Audacity or WavePad and then import the result into VP hoping all pan settings will be maintained. But will they? John in Rome
  3. Anyone know how I can pan mono audio on Soundtrack 1 left 10 degrees in the stereo field? Im working in VP 2.12. many thanks John
  4. In VP 2.22, my .mov video and its embedded audio track load fine into the Sequence window. However when I try to add a second sound clip (.wav file) it wont play in the preview window (no sound) nor will it load into Soundtrack 1 in the Sequence. However the very same moves work perfectly fine in VP 2.12. Am I missing something? thanks John
  5. < If you enlarge the sequence with the slider on the lower right it will become more precise although you will have slide the sequence along to locate your point of interest > Hi Nat, Thanks so much for your very helpful reply. I hadnt noticed the slider! All is well now!! Well, almost, but I had better post a new topic. Meanwhile thanks again. John
  6. Hello all, Im having trouble making a music video using VP PRO of me singing and playing acoustic guitar for YouTube. Ive recorded both the video and audio together with a Zoom Q3HD camera. The output is a .MOV file. I also simultaneously recorded the audio on a digital multitrack recorder using two high end condenser mics - I recorded guitar on one track, vocals on another. I recorded a loud handclap at the beginning of the take as a synching reference cue. I then imported the resultant files - i.e. the video .MOV file plus the two external .WAV files - into VP PRO version 2.22 for mixdown. However I have not been able to line the audio tracks up precisely. I find Im unable to make a fine enough adjustment to the positions of Tracks 2 and 3 to get all the handclaps EXACTLY in sync, both which each other and with the video audio track. I'm hoping this is just due to my inexperience with VP. Any help most appreciated. Am more than happy to post the files in question if required. cheers, John in Rome p.s. perhaps VP is not the right choice of editor for this kind of sync work involving multiple audio. If so, would greatly appreciate suggestions of alternative(s) to check out.
