Counting Coup

Hi. I'm trying to convert several thousand classical tracks from .wav to MP3 Lame with V.4.2. Some of these have very long file names. At a certain file-name length, I get an error (red cross) and the file is rejected. Is there a work around that keeps the long names or some trick to locating them within the original file structure so they can be quicklu found and changed? A manual search would be a huge undertaking :-) Many thanks CC
