  1. I'm using: FileFort Backup Plus v3.31 on Win 8.1. Is there a way to report either a total list of files which were backed up from each backup session or just a total count of new files backed up. I can't seem to find that anywhere. All the backup logs show are 'start/stop' of each session. Not very helpful. Thanks,
  2. Hi again, One more thought on this subject. Would you know of a way to have it background startup only, instead of popping up on the screen when the machine starts and then have to manually close it to keep it running in background. Right now, when machine starts it opens right up on the screen and I have to manually close it (but it still runs in background). THanks,
  3. Hi and thanks for the reply. Option 2 of your suggestion seemed to work. There was no entry for FileFort in the Win startup area for some reason. I added it in and restarted machine and it came up fine. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks again.
  4. Hi all, I'm running FileFort v3.31 on an HP Envy Laptop with Win 8.1. Have had this software installed since Sept of '19 and no noticeable problems. It has always started up automatically when the machine is turned on as well. Over the past couple weeks I guess, I have seen that FileFort is no longer 'auto' starting when machine is cold started or 'restarted'. I now have to manually run the program from my desktop shortcut. I see no option setting inside of FileFort to effect this either. When I manually start the program and backup up any of my backup definitions, all seems to run fine. No errors and jobs complete normally. I've tried searching the 'Event Viewer' logs in Windows and can't find any occurance of FileFort in any of the logs. Would anyone have any pointers or ideas of why FileFort will no longer 'autostart' by itself, or which Event Handlers I should be searching for for any crashes. I've tried looking in the FileFort directories and can't find any error/crash/txt logs either. My machine is running normal and has had no changes to it at all and it does regular auto updates from windows. I keep regular schedules on running AntiVirus and Malware checks and all those are ok. Thanks in advance,
  5. Hi there, I'm running: PhotoPad Image Editor Masters Edition v. 2.56 on Windows 8.1 How to I take a photo and create a 'cutout' from that picture that I can work with. All I see are square/rectangle screen grabs.
  6. Hi there, I'm running File Fort Backup Plus v 3.31 on a Windows 8.1 system. My backup defs are: Incremental, Mirror, to folder on external drive. If I manually delete files from my regular work areas, does File Fort see the 'delete' event and delete those files from any backups as well? I can't seem to find the answer for this in any description. Thanks,
  7. Hi, I'm thinking of purchasing a full license for FileFort Backup ver 3.31, but am wondering what the quarterly charge is for. I see the regular purchase price for the product, but is there a quarterly charge thereafter you would have to pay as well? I tried to send a message to Support about this, but it wouldn't let me mesg them without buying the product first. All I'm looking to do is backup my laptop to my external drive (no cloud solution).
  8. Hi, thanks for the reply. I set a backup and it backed up fine. I wanted to browse that backup so I could see how it looked to walk the backup file tree to see if it allows me to choose a specific file instead of restoring the whole tree. So I selected the backup job I wanted, then went to 'job' from the menu bar and chose 'Browse backup with Express Zip', since I see no other way to walk the backed up file tree. From there, it proceeded to open up the backup archive and then threw the above mentioned message from my last post. So, I'm unable to view the backed up file tree from what I can see. Am I missing something here. The backup choice I have says that I should be able to walk the file tree to find specific files. Thoughts,
  9. Hi there, Have just installed FileFort on my HP Envy laptop (win 8.1) and am testing it a bit. I'm running: FileFort Ver 3.31 My backup defs are: Incremental, Mirror and to an external 4Terabyte drive. I've backed up some test stuff and wanted to try to restore it. I wanted to look at the list of files first before restore, so I went to "Browse backup with Express zip" first. It through this error on my backed up choice: Express Zip could not open this archive. It may be corrupted, encrypted, or empty or in an incompatible format. I can manually walk through the backed up tree on my external drive and see the info there. I searched this web site and didn't find a match for this issue. Perhaps I missed something. Any advice.
  10. Ok, i'm posting again for any responses to this. Does anybody know how you can take video from a DVR and see it with Debut on Windows 8.1. I'm using ah HP Envy machine and this machine does not have any onboard Firewire capabilities or any IEEE USB ports. (go figure) I don't seem to be getting anywhere with this issue. Does anyone have any suggestions, or have any good experience using any kind of FIrewire converter (one that actually converts the signal and not an adapter converter). If i can't get Debut to work with this, i'll start looking into Movie Maker again, and if that fails, i'll have to fall back to Pinnacle again.
  11. HI all, this may not be the correct forum for this subject, but i didn't see a generic discussions forum to post to. My question is pretty simpe. I just don't know the answer to it. I am running multiple NCH programs on my machine and was wondering if there was one way to back them all up, with their license codes, to one central area. I'm running Win 8.1 That's it. Thanks, in advance.
  12. Hi, I have an HP Envy running Win 8.1. I also have a Canon ZR85 DVR. I'm trying to figure out if i can use Debut to see digital video coming into my machine via USB. I've connected it all up and have Debut running, gone into the options and don't see any choiced availble for my input device. I'm presuming that it will not work this way, but want to double check before i start spending money on 'yet' more equipment/software to get the job done. I used to use Pinnacle with this device on a diff win OS, but the latest ver of Pinnacle 17 w/patch was unstable and had problems. Then my machine broke and i had to get another one. That is all fixed now. New machine running and am looking for a straight forward way to inport my Digital video from DVR into my machine to do stuff with it. That's it. I chose to try the NCH solution, since i really like alot of their other packages. THanks,
  13. Hi guys, sorry for this post. I figured it out. I was choosing transitions that did not change the next scene, they were just continuations of the former clip. Therefore, you could not tell there was a transition, since the transitions are seethrough, in a sense. Anyway, thanks for your input. All is well now. Sincerely,
  14. Hi, I am new to this product, but get all the basic ideas. I'm running on an HP Pavillion with Win 8.1 I have installed and registered 'VideoPad Video Editor Profesional Ver.3.54' I have a simple import 'test' .mov file i'm working with to get the hang of things here. I am able to split the .mov file and do a quick 'export' to make sure things are working. This exports to a .mpg file just fine. Now I try to add in any transition to the mix and the transition will not render green. It stays 'orange'? And when i play the movie in the app the transition does not work. It also does not work when i do an export on the project. Am I doing something wrong with things, or what seems to be the problem. Shouldn't the transition pre-render and turn green just like the other movie clips. Thanks,
