Just start the recording, start the video and it should record if you have the settings mapped correctly. I have recorded all sorts of things just by starting Wavepad Recording and then starting some other audio file on my computer. You might need to tweak the recording threshold, etc, . . .

yes, it allows you to choose a variety of options in terms of saving. You must do the following: Choose Save as then change the name of the file or it will overwrite your old file. You can also just change folders but you'll need to remember where you put it. When the Wave Encoder Options pops up use the Attributes menu drop down menu to determine what format you want to save the file as.
