  1. Bob - You should at least make a minimal effort to look through through your menu bar before posting questions. View > View Recordings folder - or even check File > Options
  2. Yeah, at times I post too quickly as well before rummaging around. Thanks
  3. You have been able to do that? I put the the same question to support and just repeated their response (below). Just to make sure, we're talking about recording from a turntable connected through USB. Maybe you can help me? When I go to Volume Control, my Line is unmutted, all bars to full and nothing comes through. Noticing that was set on my sound card, I then went to Options > Propetries > Mixer Device and choose USB Audeo Codec and it doesn't have a "line in". The choices available are all unmutted as well, all bars to full and still nothing. Then right clicking on the volume icon I choose "Adjust Audio Properties", go to the Audio Tab for USB Audo Codec and volume is greyed out. Hello Golden Records does not allow you to listen while recording. You can play the recording only after the recording completes. Regards Sonjoy, Technical Support NCH Software Note: while we make every attempt to give accurate advice, under our Reasonable Service Terms, the amount of time we can spend researching is limited. 4. Go through your wizard until you come to a dialogue box titled "Output Format". In the first box where you have 'Save recording to computer in MP3 format' click on the "Format Settings" button. Make sure 'Constant Bitrate' is checked and choose a minimum of 256, and High quality encoding. Also choose 'Stereo' for Channel Encoding Mode.

  6. I ran into this same problem, I think it's probably just a case of not being able to find the file (assuming you still have it listed the Golden Records Window). After checking my options to see where the Temporary Recording Folder was, and where the Recording Output Folder was, I went to those folders and saw nothing. I then highlighted the name I gave the file and, using XP, went to Start > Search > All files and folders > "filename.mp3" > Look in All Hard Drives - and found the file in a hidden folder C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\NCH Swift Sound\Golden\filename.mp3 Doesn't seem to be control where split files are stored, but this is most likely where you'll find them.
  7. A large problem is people's experience using a forum. Everybody has questions, but few get answers are mostly due to they do not know how to ask questions. Just look how topics being used when posting questions: "Need Help" "golden records" "Help!!!!!" "Golden Records Problem" How useful is that? When trying to get the ear of someone experienced, title your topic towards what your experience is. People will not click on this to go see if they can help with "help" or solve a problem for "problem" or click on "golden records" (like, i forgot what forum I was in). You might as well type "Guess what I'm asking about" as your topic and be satisfied to linger in hope that the title you used will attract an experienced superhero who likes to click such ambigious statements like "help I'm having a problem' "Nothing is as simple as we hope it will be." - Jim Horning
