  1. Scroll down i have added in the details you need.

hello. I downloaded the free version earlier today, and after hours of toying with it, I gave in and am now seeking help.

I am trying to set up port forwarding and the other technical stuff. So lets start from square one.

I install broadwave. My router of course says "no" I have to log in and set up port forwarding.

DMZ Hosting is off, and NAT is enabled.

I run web routing and test wizard within Broadwave.

It says, "Please log into your router and add TCP/IP port forwarding from public port 88 to (my IP here)port 88.

    When setting up port forwarding in my router it asks for the following;

    Rule Name:Broadwave

    Protocol:TCP

    Port Start:88

    Port End:88

    Port Map Start:88

please tell me what I should put in these spaces.

Also I have ESET's NOD32 do i need to create a similar rule in here as well?

please help, and all help is appreciated.

  2. The address should be in a similar format to this

    yourdomainname:88/broadwave.asx?src=1&kbps=16

replace "yournamedomain" with your full domain name and change the port number if its not 88,also change the last 2 numbers to the bitrate you have your stream set for.

Note add http:// to the start of the above address as when i include it it does not show the full addrees on this forum for some reason and there is no www.at start of the address

Thanks Kena. It actually works now but I think there is a glitch in the software where it continues to tell you that router configuration needs to be done when it actually works. I am using the IP links and would like to use a domain name instead. I registered a domain with the public IP through Dyndns.com and turned on DDNS in my router using Dyndns service with the domain name. On the software I set it to use the domain name instead of the IP, but when I go to use the domain name rootradio.info it does not work. Internally and of course externally. Any suggestions?

  3. In the broadwave program menu go into OPTIONS and you can set the minimum connection speed to 8,16,32,64 kbps then change your link to reflect the change, what is the link out of interest.

    Hi All...

I'm running a paid version of Broadwave v1.03 and my question is... Can I make ALL connections to my Broadwave server lock at something like 8 or 16 kbps? I'm not pumping music through it, in fact, its just a fire/police scanner. Quality doesn't need to be great. The other night I had 60 connections all locked in at 64kbps. My circuit can handle that but I believe 8 or 16 will be fine for what I'm doing and I want to prune as much traffic on my circuit as possible.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

  4. Your external IP address probably changed so you need to find out your current ip address by going to www.ipaddy.com and then update the link with the new ip address for your web feed.

I am having the exact same problem. I purchased the Broadwave Software and was completely happy with it. Then one day, after a power failure or network issue (i dont remember which).. I have tried everything, firewalls, router config, port checking, port changing and STILL cannot get past the TEST that says "test connection to port ... Failed" It's driving me insane! Someone help PLEASE! Thanks!

  5. Hi David

I run Windows 7 and when i click on my broadwave stream it brings up a box for me to save it as a playlist file so i just save this then open it and my stream then plays in Windows Media Player.

    Cheers Ian.S

  6. I have purchased Broadwave and have been using it for a few months now. I have been able to successfully listen to many different stream formats; asx, mp3, etc. from many different computers in different locations around the county (both laptops and desktops using different kinds of OS). My friend on the other hand just recently purchased a new laptop running windows 7 (if that's at all relavent). He is unable to connect using any of the URLs. I asked him to connect to a local radio station's website because they use the same method of streaming as I (mp3 file played by a flash player in a website). He was able to connect to their stream and hear it but not able to connect to mine with the flash tool, windows media player, iTunes or any other method supported by Broadwave. We tried to connect on his computer with both internet explorer and firefox. We also tried pasting the URL into his windows media player and that didn't work either. So we have come to the conclusion that it is the computer and not the interet programs (or operating system). The only thing I can think of is that his computer is firewalling the URLs because it doesn't trust them or something but how would we be able to get the URLs around the firewall? The streaming URL isn't a program that you can ask the firewall to allow past. What other computer setting of his could we change to enable him to connect?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

    -David.

  7. Hi Steve

Paste your URL here or send me a PM with it and i will see if it looks correct or not.

    Cheers Ian.S

I've installed Broadwave, got a static IP address, port 88, no router, firewall knows not to block the program. When I connect for live streaming, I can hear my microphone and see th green bar move with my voice. When I click on the live streaming url, I hear my voice, delayed by 10 seconds. I assume that means I'm getting on the internet, but when I email my link to a friend and tell him to paste it into this browser, he gets a message that the link is broken or that the page can't be displayed. Am I missing a step?

I'm using XP, and my audio interface is a Lexicon Omega (I have a home recording studio and the interface is set up to record and play back correctly).

    Thanks for any help!!

    Steve

  8. Hi

Yes i think you can but you will need a seperate sound card on your pc for each stream.

    Cheers Ian.S

Does Broadwave support multiple audio streams?

We are looking for a way to deliver multiple streams will this do it without problems? If so, how many?

  9. In your stream url replace unofficialradio.com with your public IP address which you can get by going to www.ipaddy.com then see if you can access your stream from another computer.

I did everything. Opening ports on my router to getting a static DNS. I can access my stream clearly from my own computer but not from any other. I am linked to the router using a wireless bridge. I have tried everything and am lost. Does it have to do with my wireless, DNS, or is it just a stupid mistake I made? PLEASE HELP!!!

    my stream location is

    <a href="http://" <a%20href="http://unofficialradio.com:88/broadwave.asx?src=1&kbps=192""%20target="_blank">http://unofficialradio.com:88/broadwave.as...;kbps=192"</a>" target="_blank"> http://unofficialradio.com:88/broadwave.as...=1&kbps=192</a>

  10. Go to Options then the General tab and select the Server Port to 88.Then go with first option of This PC connects directly with a static IP then click ok and try testing it again to see if WMP will connect.

The main problem I am having is that Win Media Player is just not connecting to the computer that I am trying to broadcast from.
  11. Check in your stream settings that you have got the Sound input selected for where your sound is coming from use the drop down options ie Line in or Default sound etc to select what you need.

When I hit connect on the BroadWave to test my connection, it has two different addresses on for 56 and one for 24. Both of them have my public IP address on them plus some other stuff written after my IP. I have tried clicking both of them to "test" my connection and it open my Win Media Player but is just keeps trying to connect and never does. I have also tried to open Win Media Player in another computer and typed in the address that both of the links say to test my connection, but when I do that, it just says Media Player cannot find the address or something to that effect. You must be patient with me, I don't know a lot about networking and the like. I know more about hardware! Thanks for your reply!
  12. Hi there What address are you using to try to get your stream?

Hello, I have tried everything to get the software to work and I just cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I have Verizon DSL with a Westell Versalink 327w Router/Modem. I have tried several ways to open up the port - including 80, 85, and 88. Also, I have make my private IP address static (that was recommended on a YouTube vid. Now, when I was setting up port forwarding with my router, I set the Protocol to TCP, I set the "Gobal Port Start to 80, 85, 88 (three different times), I set the "Global Port End" to 80, 85, and 88 (three different times) and set the "Base Port Host to 80, 85, 88 (three different times). Also, I set the static NAT to the static private IP I am trying to broadcast from. I have tried setting the Server Port in the Broadwave settings to 80, 85, and 88 (three different times). And also in the Broadwave Setting I have checked "Use this specified known domain or public IP" with the IP that was assigned to me, and have also tried checking "This PC connects directly with a static IP." I have also tried to disable my firewall. Everytime I hit "Connect" on the Broadwave, it take me to the webpage to test my connection. It then make Windows Media Player pop up but just keeps trying to connect and never does. Another thing I tried was some software from www.portforwarding.com that tests my ports and it says that the ports ARE open. As you can see, I have tried several different configurations but just cannot seem to get connected. Can anyone tell me what is going on or what I may be doing wrong?? I am going crazy, here. I have been working on this for hours with no luck!! Thank you very much!
  13. Try just deleting all the characters after .asx it works ok on a PC.

I use Moodio for Internet radio streaming (see www.moodio.fm) for most streams. However, it appears that Moodio requires that the stream end in *.asx. Therefore, the Broadwave stream's additional characters (e.g., "?src=1&kbps=56") prevent Moodio from accepting the stream URL as valid.

Currently, I'm looking for anyone who has a suggestion about how to configure Broadwave such that the *.asx does NOT have any following characters. In that case, I'll check to see if it works with Moodio.

    Hope that helps.

  14. Can you explain how this is done? thanks

You need to login to your routers configuration page then look for the Port Forwarding or Virtual Server section you will then have to add the 4 following details 1.the internal ip address of the computer that is running Broadwave 2.A name for the forward you can just call it Broadwave 3.Protocol Type which is TCP 4.In any or all Port section put 88.Also allow access through your firewall which you may be prompted to allow or deny access when you run Broadwave.Let me know how you get on and ask for further help if you need to.Good luck Ian.S

  15. Yes as long as you still have port forwarding enabled within the router and you have the correct IP address in the URL for your stream.

if you change settings in router, can you still log on with other computers?
  16. Sorry just to say that adress is for when you are forwarding through port 88 if you are using a diff port just change the 88 in the address to 85 or which ever port you are using

The address for anyone on the internet to listen should be similar to the below

    http://your IP address here:88/broadwave.asx?src=1

Replace "your IP address here" with your current IP address which you can find out at http://www.ipaddy.com/ also if you are connected through a router make sure you have enabled it for Port forwarding otherwise it wont work.

hi i installed broadwave but if any of my friend want to listen from another computer they can not listen to it

i have verizon dsl and i have actiontec gt704wg modem i opened port on my modem like this where it says

port start i entered 88 port end 88 port map 88 i also tried 85 instead of 88 in all three fields but is still not working

let us say if my ip address is 122.168.12.1 what do my friend need to type in the internet explorer address bar exactly to connect to broadwave on my computer and also which ip address should i use incomin or outgoing and how do find them.

and also do i need to get a website to start my radio or is there any other way that i can use my computer as server

or anything like that please explain in detail i will be very thankful to you.

I have my public IP address; also have my router IP address, also have my computer IP address. I have a Lynksys router, and there's a section for router fowarding, and it asks for start port & end port numbers: should those be set to 80 or 88? Then I set for TCP? Then it asks for IP address, which the first set of numbers are pre-filled, with a box at the end, which should have my computer #?

On the BroadWave setup, I would click the section that allows me to enter my public IP address, and enter that address?

Finally, how should my wed address be setup as?

    Anything else I'm missing?

It sounds like we're both at the same spot! I've never had so much trouble setting up a program.

Can anyone explain...in SIMPLE terms, how to make your computer accessible to the Internet.

Port Forward doesn't have a "Guide" for "BroadWave."

    Thank you!

  20. The IP address you have in the link is your internal network IP address you need to change that for your external IP address that connects you to the internet, change 192.168.1.100 to the first line of numbers you get by going to get by visting http://www.ipaddy.com/ for any further help just ask.Good luck Ian.S

I have downloaded, installed and setup Broadwave without any problems. I can stream to the other computers in the house but anyone outside the house only gets "page cannot be displayed" Per Linksys tech's. I set the port forwarding to 80 and 80. I tried port 88 also and it makes no difference. This is the link I have on my web page.

http://192.168.1.100:80/broadwave.asx?src=1&kbps=56 My IP through my internet provider is not static so they told me to use the router ip. If anyone has any ideas what

might be wrong, I would GREATLY appreciate any help!

  21. If you are connected through a router you have to enable port forwarding through port 88 or whatever port number you want to use or it wont work.

If Anybody knows about routers problems with BroadWave, any problem that you know please help me, i'm desperate.

I try to put music over the internet but without routers BroadWave works fine, but with router don't. And I try DNS static IP but doesn't work.

  22. Hi make sure your link is similar to this

    http://your IP address here:88/broadwave.asx?src=1
