  1. Would appreciate if you could please send me a copy of the macro at coolpages@gmail.com Thanks.
  2. I upgraded a few days ago to Express Scribe 5.00 and after finishing an audio transcription did I realized that this new version seems to be truncating each paragraph of transcribed text. In fact, any text in a paragraph that is the 260th character and beyond in a paragraph is lost once you exits the application. I was somewhat shocked by this so I have reverted back to 4.37. Is anyone else experiencing this ? I have kind of have to go back to Re-transcribed the lost part of the transcription - that's a bummer for me.
  3. Could NCH please advise when this rather long outstanding problem will be finally fixed. I would certainly like to get started with IVM on a live basis and I'm waiting for this problem to be fixed. Thanks
  4. It has been a while since I last looked at this Pause/Resume problem in IVM 4.03. I noticed that IVM 4.04 and IVM 4.05 has been released. I tried both versions on a new machine with an SIP line and noticed that the Pause/Resume sort of works but rather inconsistently. Other functions that I tried work flawlessly with the SIP line. When I hit the Pause (which I assigned to keypress 8) the 1st press of 8 has no effect. Pressing 8 again restarts the Start OGM and when I hit 8 again it goes into Pause or sometimes only after the 4th press of the key 8. So Pause/Resume has not been resolved at all.
  5. May I ask when we can expect the next release.
  6. Hmm, No one here uses the Pause / Resume command at all right now ? Could some kind soul just give it a try and let us know if it works and which version of IVM you use. I am testing 4.03 with Windows XP Pro. Would appreciate if you also indicate if the line you are using for receiving call through IVM is a landline number or a VOIP (SIP) number. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Active Command : Pause / Resume Playback When this command is selected during playback, playback is paused until it is selected again. Has anyone tried this command ? Commands like Pause, Rewind/Fast-Forward work pretty well in the simulator. However, when it comes to a real VOIP line, I can see Pause being detected when the Key Response is detected as seen from the real-time log panel at the bottom half of the program interface, but the MP3 file continues to play. And if I press the Key (in this case 5) associated with Pause /Resume Playback a couple of more times, I actually end up with a Repeat OGM. The funny thing is that all the other Key presses are properly detected and the Active Commands executed accordingly. It is just the Pause /Resume Playback not responding and this is so even if I assign 6, 7, 8 etc and change the Pause time. Has anyone experienced this problem ? I'm testing IVM 4.03
  8. To activate this feature tick the "Enable web control..." option and make sure the mailbox has remote access enabled with a suitable unique access code for each mailbox (see Mailbox Properties) To offer the web access control panel this software runs as a mini web server. It runs on port 82 (the normal port is 80 but IVM does not use this in case you have another web server on the same computer). To access your mailbox use one of the following address formats in your internet browser. eg. http://192.168.0.1:82 (for use on a local computer network) http://publicip:port eg. http://212.137.22.14:82 (for internet use) You need to make sure your firewall is not blocking the port (default port 82). Refer to your firewall settings to check the correct TCP/IP port is opened. ------------- I extracted the above from the manual. I have Enabled Web Control for the mailbox with a unique access code 98765432 By entering the url http://192.168.1.101:82 on a web browser like IE or Firefox, I could access the mailbox by keying in the code 98765432. So it works when I access the mailbox via http://192.168.1.101:82 on my local computer network. Accessing the mailbox via the internet I made sure that in my firewall, I allowed Incoming TCP ports 82 and allowed Outgoing TCP ports 82 I also determine my ipaddress using one of the many utilities available. I use a 2nd computer using the same wireless local area network to try to access the mailbox by going to http://202.156.170.132:82 When I tried to access it, I get the error message that says : Unable to connect Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 202.156.170.132:82. * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web. What could be the problem ? Is it necessary that if I want to use internet access for the mailbox, I have to go to a different local area network ? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
  9. Running a Plugin on Call Disconnect Sometimes you need to set your call so that if the call disconnects for any reason at any time later another plugin will be run. For example, this can be used to time call duration or to cleanup data relating to the call. To do this you set the variable "RunExeDisconnect". For example if somewhere early during your call your run a plugin "startcalltimer.exe", that plugin can return a variable "RunExeDisconnect=[path].exe%20%-stop". Then whenever the call disconnects (however it disconnects) IVM will run that plugin. --------------- The above is extracted from the manual on What I would like to do is at the END of each call, I would like to run a program (for example calc.exe). I was trying to understand the above extract from the manual but found it confusing. I do not wish to run any other plugins during the execution of the OGM. All I need to do when each call terminates (no matter how it ends) I just want to run the program called calc.exe. As the program is NOT an actual plugin, I uncheck the Is IVM Plugin process. Where does one put this "RunExeDisconnect" referred to in the manual ? I can get calc.exe to run, but unfortunately, it does so once IVM recieves a call coming IVM. But what I want is calc.exe to run once the call ends. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. I signed on to a SIP phone provider just to test the viability of using an SIP Phone number with IVM. Connecting IVM and getting it to recognise the SIP phone is no big deal, 1. Enter the SIP number 2. Enter the PIN 3. Enter the Server (Proxy and domain) It was a piece of cake. But getting IVM (when used with a SIP number) to respond to key presses is a totally another different matter. It did recognized the incoming call. But IVM totally refused to respond to the key presses Surely there must be a way of identifying the SIP Number provider that has the compatibility issue solved. We cannot be going around signing up SIP numbers. There must be a set of criteria that we can show to the vendors.
  11. I have been using Express Scribe on and off for several months without problems and from time to time downloaded new versions as I became aware of them. I decided yesterday to upgrade to version 4.15 and was surprised when I ended up with a screen without any of the loaded files and the transcribe text. In a panic, I downgraded to Version 4.14 which had the exact same problem. It was finally when I got to 4.10 (the next lower version I had) that all my files reappeared on the screen. Has anyone experienced this ?
  12. Thanks pythonpoole for the feedback and reference to Uplink. Do you know of any in Singapore. I mentioned Hong Kong (likewise I can't read the language either) because it happened to be the only country in the Skypein list that was in the list of countries I mention that I may have some interest in currently apart from those mentioned in the NCH website such as USA, Canada, Australia, UK and NZ. With respect to Uplink, if it currently cannot address the issue of DTMF input (like press 1 to do this, 2 to do that), then hopefully it can be resolved soon as without that facility, IVM Telephone Attendant with VOIP providers etc is kind of effectively not workable, at least for now. Thanks for the info in any case.
  13. I took a look at the listing on: Express Talk VoIP Softphone for Windows - SIP Service Providers "PC to Landline SIP Service Providers" http://www.nch.com.au/talk/sip.html I was wondering whether there may be providers in the Asia Pacific providers for countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong. Are there any users here who has found SIP Service Providers from which you can purchase a phone number to use with IVM and has used it successfully. This is a number that we can have people call into IVM Telephone Attendant and be able to have IVM Telephone Attendant respond to their key presses There are some VOIP providers like SkypeIn which provide a number in for example Hong Kong, but I read in this forum that IVM needs a SIP based VOIP provider and SkypeIn is not one of them. See below. "Sorry, IVM will only work with SIP based VOIP services. Skype does not use this so it will not work with IVM." http://nch.invisionzone.com/index.php?show...;st=0#entry2531 What about Talqer ? Will Talqer's Talqin work with IVM ? TalQer "TalQer offers TalqIn numbers from 38 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States. We are constantly working to expand the number of countries we provide telephone numbers from so chances are your country will be added soon." http://talqer.com/talq_in.html?&pBeaXU..._joCHzOGYzXd6Rj Perhaps NCH can help us users and potential users with an expanded list of Service Providers that provide SkypeIn and TalqIn type numbers that work with IVM Telephone Attendant. Otherwise, we are left shooting in the dark. Of course forum subscribers can help chip in with their own personal suggestions and successes. More hands make light work. Are there some minimum key questions we can ask a Service Provider when trying to identify these "usable" Service Providers. So if I were to email some of these Service Providers, what should I be asking them ?
  14. Thank you very much for your response. Just a couple of clarifications on your response above as follows : I assume that means we does not need to re-purchase. Am I correct ? Assuming that one purchases support at same time when purchasing the software, when does the clock start for the paid technical support in this case of delayed activation of IVM. Does the paid technical support clock start from date of purchase or from the date of activation. I mean after all, if I delay activation for several weeks or even months due to other time or project commitments, I really would not have very much to ask if anything at all since I would not even be using the software. Thank you once again for your response. Much appreciated. Oh by the way, although I Enable receiving email notification of replies to this topic, I have not received any notifications. In case you are wondering, yes, I check my spam folders as well. Nothing there. Is anyone else having a similar problem with email notification ?
  15. Hello support ? If any one from support is monitoring this forum, a response to the questions posted above would be appreciated. Thanks.
