mikep
HELP! HELP! HELP! Restore has failed Hi, Mike here. Because my data is precious, I carefully and constantly back up using FileFort. All seemed well until my data was lost and I tried to restore the back up - all I received was 'restore ...not finished due to errors.' Nothing more Any ideas what that is all about - is there another way of restoring bkz files? I am a little suspicious that the software is designed to do that to force you to buy technical help - I hope that is not true and I will make a lot of noise if my suspicions have any foundation. Please help if you can Mike

If it were possible, all the software would run perfectly and the world would be rid of helpdesks altogether. I'd say your best bet is send a support request to NCH anyways as well as hope that someone on these forums can help you out. I'll do some digging for you but can't promise a solution. mikep
I tired changing the .bkz extension to .zip and the files unzipped OK. It is not as good as a restore - but it does mean that the files are available and I am satisfied.

Please help if you can Mike I, too, have been using FileFort to backup financial data for two years for a non-profit for which I volunteer. When our computer crashed I discovered that the restore function did not work. How can people develop software like this? Thanks to this forum I was able to save a copy of the file on my home computer, rename it with a .zip extension and extract the backup files with WinZip software. I copied the extracted files onto a smart card and then copied then onto our new office computer. This is really poor software development. Robert B. Melba2010
Backup software is a product that automatically makes backup copies of existing files. It allows you to automatically copy, download, and/or upload data to your computer and various other storage options, such as remote servers or network disks, depending on the backup schedules you have set up. It is a program designed to mirror data or create an exact copy of files you have, using a long series of algorithms to successfully archive data. esxibackups like that
