4.56 CPU usage & GPU encoding

Please try out the latest version (v4.58).

 

Since v4.48, a lot of optimisation has been done to reduce CPU usage. Also most of the video effects are now done in GPU.

 

I'm starting new thread instead of hijacking another.

 

I too saw my CPU temps drop, and CPU while encoding went from 100% down to 25%.

How do I verify I have everything configured properly to take advantage of GPU encoding? (Nvidia 1060)

Hi MattD,

 

VideoPad is using GPU for image processing(adding effects and transitions) only. Hardware codecs are not used at the moment.

You can confirm that VideoPad is using the GPU to do effects by going to Tools->Options->Editing and confirming that the new checkbox "Use hardware-accelerated video effects" is ticked.
