Can't get playback to stop

Sometimes while I am trying to listen to a portion of my project, MixPad just keeps playing all the way to the end, and there's nothing I seem to be able to do to stop it. The stop button doesn't respond, spacebar doesn't do anything, and my only option is to sit and wait until it reaches the end. That's making the program pretty much unusable, so I'm hoping there's a solution!

 

I think this started happening just this year. Never used to have the problem.

This used to happen to me. I ended up rolling the OS back to Yosemite and it worked the right way again. I think I also updated the Mixpad software. I remember it being really annoying and stressing me out.
