FADE IN Issue

Hi fellow WavePadders,

I work a lot with samples and need to cut and fade audio.

WavePad creates a little bit of sound at the beginning of its Fade In,

before it starts a fade in.

Is it true that this audio program cannot fade in starting with zero?

Please let me know if you have seen/heard this problem before.

Hi beatmen,

When you use the fade in command in WavePad, you should get a nice smooth gradient starting from zero with no noise added. I just tested this on a sine wave to verify. You can see a zoomed in image below.

Could you give me a bit more info on your workflow and what file formats you are working in?

Also, can you *see* a noise in the waveform or can you just hear it when you playback?

Regards,

Ben

Dear Ben, thank you for your quick reply. The photo you sent shows exactly what I wish for.

When i do what you have done, I get "some audio fade out first, then fade in".

I would like to show you a picture but I don't understand how I can put a picture into this message.

Shall I upload it to "My Media" or so?

I am using MacBook Pro 13inch mid 2012, El Capitan

I usually work wit wav 44.1 kHz, 16 bit files, or 48 kHz, 32 bit.

I, also, had issues with the Fade In feature.  It seemed to be applying the Fade Out effect to the selected section.

Like this:

I tried to replicate the view settings that nchBen used in his example, just in case it made a difference.

So, I tweaked some of the settings in the View menu.  Added the dB markers, toggled the Left up Right down option (newbie, don't know what that does), etc.

After doing the View tweaking, for reasons unknown to me, the Fade In started actually fading in.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
