Removing bass from pre-recorded audio

I work with otr audio files. In very many cases, the audio files I have to deal with... there is way too much bass added to the original sound recording. How do I remove the heavy bass from these recordings. I can't find any tool wave pad has to offer to remove heavy bass. The heavy bass give a muffled sound to the recording. If you don't have a tool to remove the bass can you at least develope one?

Hi Otrrob50,

First of all have a look at our high pass filter. This would be the simplest method. You can access it via Effects -> Cleanup -> High-pass Filter. In the dialog box which appears you select the frequency below which you would like to attenuate.

 

If you need more advanced options then take a look at our equalizer via Levels -> Equalize. Here you can select between Visual/Graphic/Parametric equalizers which should give you very precise control over how the frequencies are attenuated.
