Burning my mix of songs to a CD

I guess I'm green... I just downloaded the free version was able to edit and set up 4 partial tracks as I wanted, totaling 6 minutes; but when I tried to burn a CD, it said I needed 1.2 GB of memory and I only have a 800MB disk!

6 minutes of music turned into 1.2 GB?

What can I do? Thanks for any help. EW

Edit: Relative to the above, I'm trying to understand why this tiny little project of 6 minutes seems to be requiring so much memory that I can't put 6 minutes (parts of 4 songs) on an 80 min CD-R disk (Memorex) ?

I'm applying just a few effects, like "fade out."

Hi EdWheeler,

Are you trying to burn the whole project to disk? Or just the music?

A MixPad project can be *much* larger than just the audible clips you have on the screen. The original resources for each clip you add to MixPad are kept in their entirety so that you are able to re-edit clips from the originals and keep your project quality high. This can quickly add up to a large size.

Are you wanting to move the project to somewhere else?

Regards,

Ben
